POSTS STORIES REELS

Helloooo ❤️

I haven’t shared much on here over the past year, but it’s been one of the best yet!

We welcomed our beautiful daughter Ella, who is now 6 months old. My eldest, Lily, is absolutely in love, and Tyler is one very proud dad. There’s not much more to say about this picture other than… a whole bucketload of love!

Becoming a mother again has been such a humbling, comforting and beautiful experience. I feel incredibly held by my family, and my heart is very full.
And now, I’m excited to share that I’ll be back doing what I love, offering treatments one day a week in Ocean Shores, from the luxurious Nature’s Skin Studio.

I can’t wait to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new families, little ones, teenagers, women and adults into the space.

Your bookings are welcome via my website. I am seeing adults and children of all ages.

Feeling so grateful, excited and very ready for this next chapter.
Much love,

What did you notice before giving birth?

In Chinese Medicine, the final weeks of pregnancy are known as the Ripening Phase.

From around 36 weeks, a woman's body begins to soften. The pelvis gently opens, while qi and blood gather to nourish the uterus and cervix in preparation for a physiological birth. Rather than forcing labour, this is a time of trust, rest and allowing the body to do what it has been designed to do.

One of my favourite Chinese idioms is:

"When the melon is ripe, the stem falls off."
Guā Shú Dì Luò

It beautifully reflects the Traditional Chinese Medicine understanding of birth. When both mother and baby are truly ready, labour begins in its own time.

I'd love to hear from the mothers here. What changes did you notice in your body or mind in the weeks before labour began? by @three_jewels_acupuncture

5 Simple Ways to Protect Your Immune System This Winter

Winter is a season for slowing down. In Chinese medicine, it's a time to conserve energy, nourish the body's reserves, and support the systems that keep us healthy through the colder months.

Here are five simple ways to care for yourself this winter:

1. Wear socks.
Keeping your feet warm helps support Kidney Qi, the body's deepest reserve of energy and vitality.

2. Enjoy a warming ginger bath.
Fresh ginger helps warm the body and encourage healthy circulation. My favourite ginger bath recipe can be found in my Linktree.

3. Protect your neck and lower back.
Wear a scarf and keep your lower back covered. In Chinese medicine, these areas are important to protect from cold and wind.

4. Eat warm, cooked foods and drink warm fluids.
Choose soups, stews, porridges, herbal teas, and other nourishing meals. Winter is not the season for iced drinks or cold foods.

5. Rest often.
Winter invites us to slow down. Giving yourself permission to rest helps your body restore, repair, and build resilience

Sometimes the simplest habits are the most powerful. Which one will you start with this week? 💛

What is the Earth Element in Chinese Medicine???

The earth Element within our body is symbolic of the digestive quality we hold. Not only how well we digest our food but also how well we are digesting life.

We refer to the Spleen and Stomach as the Earth organs. They have an obvious role in digesting food and transpoting food nutrients throughout the body via the blood stream.

The vital substance blood is greatly nourished and supported by healthy Spleen and Stomach Qi.

Other ways our Spleen holds importance in the body includes...

> maintaing mental focus, such as study
> holding blood in our vessels, such as preventing bruises or heavy menstrual periods
> closely supports and strengthens the blood to fill our body with vitality nourishing all our organs, skin, nails and hair.
> nourishes our heart to feel happier and sleep deeply.

Some practical ways to encourage our children or self to build up Spleen Qi...

> anything involving the hands..
> gardening
> collecting iron rich soil like the red dirt pictured here, to build pottery, paint out body, bath in 🥰
> massaging
> cooking and eating 😋
> building blocks

My favourite formula in Chinese medicine is definitely Gui Pi Tang.. Spleen Qi Tonic. This formula helps strengthen the digestive system, absorb Iron from.our food, calms the spirit and lifts the mood. The impacts of long term use will help energy levels rise, build muscle, promote mental focus and it is GREAT FOR KIDS !!! 😍👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🫶🫶🫶🫶 by @three_jewels_acupuncture

Metal Element Child
Chinese Medicine Wisdom

With a Metal child, I always take it slowly. These children often need time, consistency, and gentleness to feel safe. While some kids jump straight into massage or acupuncture, a Metal child may take several visits before they’re ready for skin-to-skin treatments like cupping or needles.

In the early stages, I may only offer gentle acupressure through clothing. Their trust builds gradually—and when it does, it’s a powerful opening.

When not thriving, a Metal child may appear pale, fine-boned around the shoulders, and show signs of lowered immunity or emotional sensitivity to the world around them. They often need minimal, carefully timed therapy to avoid overwhelm.

A balanced Metal child has a strong sense of self-worth, values quality, and delights in sharing their ideas and contributions. When out of balance, they may become melancholic, lose inspiration, or hold themselves to impossibly high standards.

Metal Element Snapshot:
• Season: Autumn
• Sound: Weeping
• Emotion: Grief
• Yin organ: Lung
• Yang organ: Large Intestine

Supporting these children is about honouring their inner refinement and offering calm, steady presence.

Earth Element Child ✨️

I am always delighted by the earth Child who is absolutely ready for a nourishing massage or cupping. Earth kids are so willing to recieve a body massage and show their gratitude with such warmth.

When a child's Earth Element is balanced they are exceptionally good empaths. They are grounded, warm, caring and can bring awareness to their personal needs as well as others. Earth kids are generally natural givers, and the key lesson for Earth kids and adults is to also remember to look after their own needs.

When a child's Earth Element is imbalanced there may be a tendency to worry, become overly dependent and needy. Mainly imbalance can be noticed when there is an unhealthy relationship with food even varying degrees of appetite such as food aversion and over eating. Empathy may be lacking or excessive.

Luckily Acupuncture promotes a healthy Earth Element bringing greater body strength, mental focus, healthier eating habits, better sleep and emotional strength. by @three_jewels_acupuncture

This is Pom Pom ! 🫶 🐶
I am so very excited to introduce our newest member in the clinic.

Pom Pom is a very gentle and affectionate pup. She is a soft and playful support to the adults and children who visit me each week.

It's an absolute compliment when both adults and children say they can't wait for next week so they can see Pom Pom 😂😂😂

Mostly, she loves to sit under the table and nap but sometimes she is requested for cuddles during a treatment. It's all a part of the service these days 😄

Easter appointments are available and you can book via my Linktree in my Bio.

Love and care,
Candace ❤️

One of my number one requests in the clinic is cupping!
All of my young clients love cupping, including babies, all the way through to teenagers.

CUPPING helps reduce tension and stress held in the physical body. As well as...

~ Fast relief from lingering coughs.

~ Increases blood circulation, which increases energy in depleted children.

~ Releives aches and pains.

~ Parents are often surprised how still their child is the entire time ! Stillness encourages parasympathetic activation and can make for better sleep.

The dark colouring can appear when a child is dehydrated and while stagnation is present. This means the body and tissues lack a natural flow. Children are usually very relaxed and comfortable during and after cupping.

Have you been home with sick kids ??
Sometimes, if we are not quite sure what our kids need, it's always best to remember it is you!

Our kids, greatest remedy is our loving presence!!

Reminding them that their body is strong, intelligent and knows exactly what to do. Even in the discomfort, tell them how their body is doing a big clean out and the good news is that their body will be stronger than ever soon!!!

Teenager's and Acupuncture 💗✨️

As we may all remember the teen stage can be quite turbulent at times. Hormones are surging and the child is progressively individualising into an adult.

While the individual teen navigates changes both in the inner and outer world, it can be, for some of the time, greatly overwhelming for the teen.

It is equally a time that is inspiring. As parents start to witness their child transform, define themselves and move into a creative expression of who they dream to become.

We hope as parents for the latter and certainly wish a smooth experience during puberty for our young family members.

💛 In Chinese Medicine we notice a great surge in Yang energy rising from the Kidney towards the heart. This is the spirit of the Kidney actualising its potential and the Heart spirit carrying its gifts into the world. This process can significantly stagnate the Liver Qi causing a disturbance to Qi for the teen. This can manifest into aggressive behaviours, anxiety, depression, lethargy and even retreating. And in serious long term manifestations eating disorders and self harming.

We would like to help 🤲💗
The beautiful thing about Acupuncture is how it greatly helps direct the surge of Yang, sooth the Liver Qi and calm the Heart Qi.

If you have concerns, your child will not enjoy having needles it is not the only way to support your teens Qi. At Little Jewels, our Acupuncturist's use massage, cupping, Acutonics, Chinese Herbal Formulas and laser Acupuncture with great effect for lasting positive results.

Also honestly we find all children love needles. They are so much finer than needles used for adults. They also do not retain in the skin for long at all.
