It was an honor to have the opportunity to study and learn from with the one and only @synergisticmovement over the last 9 months! Thanks for all the insights and gems. Look forward to keeping this momentum and spending some time with you in your clinic! by @thrive_salida

Incredible respect for the training for Acupuncture Movement Specialist by Derrick McBride @sportsmed.acupuncturist; and such an honor to have the opportunity to study with him. This series of classes and The Acupuncture and Movement Project has completely changed the way I approach evaluation and treatment. Absolutely amazing to have had this opportunity with such a spectacular teacher. by @thrive_salida

The guiding light --> to be in service, and create space for others reclaim their light within their life.

What is your guiding light?

They are all a bummer 🔼🔺 And can impact quality of life SO much.

Thrive Sports & Integrative Medicine looks at these conditions within the lens of -
🔸🔸Hardware: is there a structural limitation/restriction/deficiency that exists within the soft tissues or bony articulations in the neck or face that results in dysfunction?
🔹🔹Software: are there nerve related issues causing pain? And, is there good signal strength from the central and peripheral nerve systems into the multitude of muscles that affect the head and neck?
▫️▫️Cyclical: are there patterns related to the endocrine system that we address via estrogen, progesterone, testosterone or the hypothalamic -pituitary-adrenal axis?

Often these issues are a mix of multiple systems interacting together, and there are assessments that help us find the path out of the labyrinth into a life without pain.

What will you do.... with this one, brave life of yours?

It all moves so quickly amidst the crush of it all.

Gratitude isn't just saying "thank you" on the fly, it’s an act of deliberate slowdown. It’s pausing long enough to let your soul catch up with your body. It’s looking at the routine architecture of your day and realizing it’s actually built out of these small miracles and blessings, quiet gifts waiting to be noticed. by @thrive_salida

Did you know a lot of practitioners get certified in "dry needling" with just 40 or less hours of training?

Our training stands at over 4,500 hours of intensive medical and clinical study. When you work with that level of depth, dry needling evolves from 'knot-popping' into true functional medicine.

Next Level Care at Thrive Integrative Medicine: Standard dry needling targets myofascial trigger points—those hyperirritable knots in tight muscles that restrict your movement.

True neuro-functional needling goes deeper:

🪐💠✨ Electromyography (EMG) Maps: We look beyond the simple knot to map your entire nervous system.

❇️✳️❇️ Motor Point Targeting: We treat the exact zones where your nerves dictate muscle function to instantly unlock power and mobility.

🔹🔷🔹Pain-Minimizing Techniques: Extensive clinical training under MDs means smoother, significantly more comfortable sessions.

Don’t settle for the weekend-course version of nervous system care. Let's unlock your body's true potential.

Potential - your life is full of it.

Flowers push forth in the harshest of environments, mama nature's way of reminding us what's possible.

Nothing is static, nothing is stationary, change is possible in ways unimaginable.

What's the change you want?
What's the story that holds you back?

This human container is the reflection of the mind, the spirit, and the body in one dance together - prime for change and expression in this one wonderous and brave existence. by @thrive_salida

✨ Long runs, workouts, and strength training are all extremely important. But so is recovery. I’m happy to be working with a local Sports Medicine Acupuncturist for some added recovery this Spring! We’re focusing on a few, new recovery methods that I haven’t traditionally used very often:

🌿Deep muscle release and myofascial work with old school fire cups is amazing on old injuries. Gosh knows I have enough of those!

🌞Working on neuromuscular connections for greater functional strength and dropping tight muscles with dry needling and acupuncture!

If you’re local to the Arkansas Valley and looking to up your recovery game or make a come back from a pesky injury, make sure to check out Dr. Tyler Andres, DAOM LAc in Salida, Colorado.

I've been talking with patients a lot about our interbal 'software.'

Basically: Your brain is wired to run the messages you repeat. Whether that message is a movement in the body, or a thought/assumption.

Like training for any event, you do reps/sets. Likewise: if you focus on gratitude, the brain is wired to see more good in the world.

This is the beauty of neuroplasticity!!
