🎭 The Barton S. Tibbits Sponsorship was created in 1986 as the theatre's own unique package for the annual auction. The highest bidder receives four reserved tickets to EVERY show at Tibbits for one full year. It will once again be up for bidding at this year's auction this Saturday, November 7! The very first winners were Marie and Richard Bettinger, who at the time owned the Coldwater McDonald's. In their second year of sponsorship, the Bettingers used the opportunity to share the tickets with their employees. “It was a special feeling, a royalty-type feeling, to have our seats ready for us, marked by a velvet reserved sign,” said Marie. In the last two years, long-time supporter Jane Schultz has won the package, who dedicated the sponsorship in memory of her late husband, Harold Schultz. The Schultz' held the honor through most of the 90s, never missing a show, and Jane now shares the tickets with her children and grandchildren. According to Jane, “you can’t be an adult without experiencing live theatre. Your children should experience it too. It’s a world beyond movies and tablets; you can’t duplicate it.” Tickets to the Dueling Pianos Show & Live Auction can be purchased at Tibbits.org or by calling the box office at 517-278-6029. by @tibbitsoperahouse
