POSTS STORIES REELS

the books I spent time with in q3 !! <3

a heavy editing summer at work so my storygraph was left lonelier than usual in july especially, but lots of absolute bangers here

not pictured (because I read on kindle/listened):
- a mind of my own by kathy burke (made me laugh out loud)
- fruit fly by josh silver
- great and unfortunate things by jason arday (beautiful)

switzy was a real stand-out for me and i was v sad not to see it on the booker shortlist but EXCITED to be on to that cosy, cosy autumnal reading now 🍂🧣☁️🦇🥧

this was an absolute masterpiece, it deserves its own post and I loved it very much 😭😭😭

I was a fan of emma cline before, but this, for me, is her best yet, and very well deserving of that Booker longlist tag

we follow david hastings - “a wealthy retired american business executive with dementia, on a final pilgrimage across europe to a medically assisted dying clinic in zurich” and I recommend going in knowing very little else

it’s so moving, so perfectly and beautifully told, and I very much hope to see it on the shortlist tomorrow!

Q2 reading !!
🌈🌸🐝🐑🌩️💕

not pictured:
- yesteryear (on loan)
- london falling (audiobook)
- writers and lovers (ebook)
- famesick (audiobook)

absolute standout here is lost lambs - my favourite to win the waterstones debut prize - but I also had a lot of fun with rejection and I want you to be happy (another exquisite debut)

while gorgeously written, as always, I found john of john just a liiiiittle tricky to get through but took immense comfort in listening to queen nora and fern brady on audio <3

SO a steady 4/month between work reading, excited by the tbr i have queued for Q3 !! by @tierneybooks

LOVED !!!! (Obvs) 5⭐️

Made me laugh, made me THINK (and pondering lasted long after I finished the book) and had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything would resolve. Highly recommend, deserves the hype!!

I’m currently reading lost lambs by madeline cash, which I think is my fave read of the year so far 👀

let me know what you fave read of q1 was and I’ll check it out for q2 😙😙 by @tierneybooks

Will I ever stop talking about how much I love this book? No, no I will not. It is everything to me - the plot is so original, it’s deliciously moreish, the tension between the characters is DIVINE. If you like the hunger games, squid game or the bachelor and you want to have a really FUN time with a book, this is for you

Congratulations @szahmedwrites and @daisyannbooks and cheers to all that’s to come🥂 by @tierneybooks

my top 3 books of 2025 !! very rare to have the same author twice but the bee sting was only overtaken in december by skippy 🫶🏼 adding murray’s other work to my cart as we speak (the new covers - yum)

nesting is the most beautiful debut - I couldn’t put it down and it spoke to me on soooo many levels. The paperback is on pre-order just because I loved it so much, and I can’t wait to see what roisin o’donnell does next

I absolutely loved this debut - funny, heart wrenching and pacy. I fell for the characters and devoured the story (highly recommend if you enjoyed talking at night or one day - it’s as romantic but a little more down to earth, which I enjoyed)

This is the story of Julia her best friend Gabe, a successful indie musician who dies at 29. Julia then has to recover his possessions from friends and acquaintances across the globe, all while reconciling her feelings for him, and the place they left things. It’s a brilliant premise, well executed from start to finish and would make a PERFECT summer holiday read by @tierneybooks

All my manifesting worked!! The universe, and the absolute gem that is @chloenseager reunited me with the romance author of my dreams, the magnificent @sophiejowrites
