POSTS STORIES REELS

A few things about me that explain why I do what I do. 💛

1. I lost both of my parents to suicide one year and five days apart.

That experience changed the course of my life. It's also the reason I do the work I do today—helping others find hope after unimaginable loss.

2. I don't think the first year of grief is the hardest.

I think the second year is. The shock begins to wear off, everyone else has returned to their lives, and you're left realizing this is your life now. That's when the real work of healing often begins.

3. Walking and strength training are non-negotiables for me.

After being diagnosed with CRPS, there was a time I wasn't sure my body would let me do either one. Today, movement isn't about changing how I look. It's one of the ways I take care of my mind.

4. I don't believe surviving and healing are the same thing.

For years, I confused the two. Surviving kept me alive. Healing is what finally gave me my life back.

5. I love shows that don't ask me to think too hard.

Healing also means making room for joy, laughter, and a little escape every now and then. Life is hard enough. Sometimes it's okay to simply unplug and enjoy the moment.

Today is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day — a day nobody ever wants to be part of, yet here we are… still standing, still breathing, still trying to make sense of everything.

If you’re navigating the kind of loss that changes everything…
If you’re carrying questions you’ll never get answers to…
If you’re tired of pretending you’re “fine”…

You are not alone.
And you don’t have to rise back by yourself.

My book, The Rise Back: Reclaiming Life After Suicide Loss, Pain, and Silence, was written for days like this — the heavy ones, the quiet ones, the “I don’t know how to do this” ones.

If you or someone you love is living in the aftermath of suicide loss, I hope you’ll consider grabbing a copy. It’s part truth, part lifeline, and fully for you.

Still here. Still rising. And so are you.

One year ago today, I did one of the most vulnerable things I have ever done. I put my life into a book and shared it with the world.

I will never forget the night The Rise Back launched. I crawled into bed with so much peace, yet completely overwhelmed by the reality that my story was now out there.

Would anyone actually read it? What would they think? Did I share too much?

There is a piece of my heart on every page of this book. The loss, the pain, the lessons, the moments I questioned everything, and the courage it took to keep going.

And now, one year later, I can tell you that every sleepless night spent writing this book was worth it.

To everyone who has purchased my book, read my story, shared it with someone, sent me a message, or simply cheered me on, THANK YOU. You have made this first year something I will never forget.

My greatest hope is that somewhere in these pages, someone finds a little more courage to keep going and a reason to believe that life can still be good, even after hard times.

Happy 1st birthday to The Rise Back!

Some people dream of visiting a place they have never been.
Others would give anything for just five more minutes with someone they miss.

If you could choose just one…

If 2016 me and 2026 me sat down for coffee, I don't think either of us would believe the conversation we would be having.

Ten years ago, I was a completely different person. I was still carrying so much from everything I had been through, trying to figure out who I was and what I wanted the rest of my life to look like.

If you had told me back then that I would write a book, stand on stages, share the parts of my story I spent years keeping to myself, and actually LOVE the life I am living, I would have thought you were crazy.

But here I am.

The transformation is almost overwhelming when I stop and think about it. Because I know what it took to get here. The things I had to work through, the fears I had to face, and the decisions I had to make to change my life.

And here is something I have not said in a really long time.

I am proud of myself. Really, really proud.

Follow @tiffaneychilders if you believe it is never too late to change your life, find your joy again, and become someone you are genuinely proud of.

It's funny how life changes what matters to you.

The older you get, the more you realize it was never about having more stuff, making everyone happy, or getting everything right.

It's the ordinary days you wish you could have back. The conversations you didn't know would be your last. The people you thought you would have more time with. The moments you rushed through because you assumed there would always be more.

So take the pictures. Make the memories. Tell people you love them. And please, don't get so caught up in everything going wrong that you miss what's still going right.

There is still so much life worth living.

I used to think grief was something you went through. I never understood that some losses become part of every decision you make, every relationship you have, and every version of yourself you become afterward.
