Join us for “Coastal Resilience: Influence of shape on near-coast structures,” a seminar by Maria E. Moreyra Garlock, the Daniel Tsui Professor in Engineering. Professor Garlock teaches Civil and Environmental Engineering and co-directs Princeton’s Program in Architecture and Engineering. Her research explores how to design creative, resilient structures that can withstand earthquakes, fires, and storm surges—which she will explore in this talk.

Garlock examines the performance of variously shaped near-coast structures—such as bridges, flood-barriers and free-surface breakwaters – subject to wave actions. This research points to opportunities to enhance our coastal resilience.

This faculty seminar is free and open to the public. Join us today, Tuesday, November 3 in the Briger Hall Auditorium, 11 Ivy Lane, or stream it live. Lunch at 11:45, lecture at 12:15. Full details through the link in our bio. by @tigersgogreen
