This Sunday, 1 November, you can listen to our Chief Kindness Cheerleader, Sarah, talking all things kindness with host, Tomson Chauke, on the Berkshire Culture Connect on @bradiouk

Ahead of World Kindness Day on 13 November they talk about the power of kindness to be the light in a world that can feel dark.

Sarah shares some of her favourite recent kindness stories, as well as making suggestions for building habits to spot it in your world.

Tomson revealed that when he's feeling gloomy Time for Kindness is where he turns to cheer himself up. As you can imagine, that made Sarah's day!

Tune in at 8pm on Sunday evening or catch up on the replay (both via the links in their bio) and let us know what you think 😀 by @time_for_kindness

At the Every Little Thing Mental Health Festival, we invited people to share stories of kindness they'd seen, received or experienced.

Most of the Post-it notes on our Wall of Kindness did exactly that.

Alongside those stories were small messages of encouragement left for whoever might read them next.

"Keep smiling."

"Just breathe."

"You matter and you're important."

"I love you."

At a festival centred on mental health and wellbeing, those messages felt especially powerful.

Faced with a blank Post-it note, people chose to leave behind words of hope, reassurance and encouragement for strangers they would never meet.

Because kindness isn't always a big action or a story. Sometimes it's simply knowing what someone else might need to hear. 💜

Kindness is contagious.

The more we notice it, talk about it and celebrate it, the more we seem to find it in our everyday lives.

Earlier this year, I met Adam Walker at the Sussex Kindness Conference at the @sussexuni Research Centre.

Our shared interest in creating kinder workplaces and communities led to a fascinating conversation on his Pharma Prescribed podcast.

In this short clip, we talk about how kindness spreads, why we notice more of it once we start looking for it, and how talking openly about kindness gives others permission to do the same.

For a long time, I described myself as a communications consultant and kindness cheerleader.

Eventually, I realised kindness wasn’t something to add on at the end. It was the thing I most wanted to lead with.

It’s been encouraging to see more people embracing conversations about kindness in business, leadership and workplace culture.

Not because it’s trendy, but because it matters.

On World Kindness Day, @kindness_unites is hosting a live round-table exploring some of the more complex realities behind kindness at work and in life.

From navigating difficult workplace cultures to balancing kindness with boundaries and authenticity, this isn't a conversation about being nice all the time. It's a space to explore the messy, uncertain situations where kindness can feel hardest to practise.

Hosted by Helen Rimmer, the discussion will tackle challenging questions around leadership, relationships, identity and belonging, creating a space for honest conversation rather than easy answers.

If you've ever wrestled with where kindness ends, where boundaries begin, or how to stay true to yourself in difficult situations, this conversation is for you. The event is free to attend, but places should be booked in advance via the link in the @Kindness Unites bio.

A couple of weekends ago, our chief kindness cheerleader Sarah, had the privilege of attending the Every Little Thing Mental Health Festival in Reading, a special community event centred around wellbeing, connection and supporting one another.

Throughout the day, visitors stopped by our kindness wall and shared their stories.

Among the stories were a stranger bringing a cold drink to someone whose car had broken down in the heat, volunteers building balance bikes for children to receive at Christmas, and one from a wonderful primary school pupil who is a kindness ambassador at her school, noticing a child was upset and taking the time to check they were OK.

One story that particularly resonated with us came from someone who paid for a woman's purchase when her card was declined while buying a gift for a friend. She asked for nothing in return, only that the kindness be paid forward one day.

Later, she reflected on how much the experience meant to her too, sharing that she felt blessed to be able to help and that it made her feel good as well.

It's a beautiful reminder that kindness creates a ripple effect.

Not only for the person receiving it, but for the person giving it too. 💛

Whenever I speak at events, conferences or on podcasts, my aim is never simply to talk about kindness. It's to help people see it differently.

Together, we explore what kindness really is (and isn't), why it matters, and how learning to notice kindness more often can transform our relationships, wellbeing, workplaces and communities.

Because kindness isn't just something we do. It's something we can learn to see.

By paying greater attention to the kindness that already exists around us, we can build stronger connections, feel more hopeful about the world, and discover practical ways to bring more kindness into our everyday lives.

If people leave a conversation feeling inspired, encouraged and equipped with a few simple ideas to try for themselves, then I know I've done my job.

Thank you to everyone who has invited me to speak, listened to a podcast, joined a workshop or shared in these conversations so far. Every discussion helps keep kindness visible. 💜

There is far more kindness in the world than we often realise.

Every day, people are helping, supporting, encouraging and looking out for one another in ways both big and small.

When we start to notice those moments, something shifts. We feel more connected, more hopeful and more positive about the world around us.

When you see kind, you feel better. And when you feel better, you perform better. 💜

What kindness have you spotted lately?

It was fabulous to meet up with these 2 fellow kindness advocates, Linda @kindnessfromcohen and Kim @kindness.for.success , in person today ❤️

Being a cheerleader for kindness is easier on some days than others. On the days when it feels harder, knowing that I am not alone in believing in the power of kindness makes a huge difference. Linda and Kim both work in the field of kindness too. by @time_for_kindness

On World Mental Health Day, here are some things that people with mental health struggles have told me about the importance of showing that kindness is all around us.

“When we hit rock bottom, even the tiniest kindness has a hugely positive effect.”

“We easily forget that the world is full of good people, because we are only fed the bad news by the media.”

“Sometimes you feel as if you can’t see a chink of light.”

When you see kind, you feel better.

The painted rock was gifted to me last weekend at @everylittlethingfestival by Reading Kindness Rocks - it's a beautiful reminder of what I want Time for Kindness to be.

Kindness is all around us, but sometimes we need to train ourselves to notice it.

We can easily find ourselves focusing on what's going wrong, overlooking the small moments of connection, generosity and care that happen every day.

In this carousel, we're sharing three simple ways to notice kindness more often:

Be conscious of your own thoughts and interpretations of situations.
Recognise that even the smallest acts can be kind.
Be kind to yourself too.

The more we notice kindness, the more we begin to see it everywhere. And when we see it, we're often inspired to share it.

What small act of kindness have you noticed recently?

A young person carried an older traveller's suitcase over the bridge at the station.

Not only that, but the 2 of them then had a friendly conversation as they walked up the steps, over the bridge and down the other side.

Kindness is powerful because it connects us as humans.

Where have you seen kindness connecting people recently? Let us know in the comments, we love to hear your kindness examples! by @time_for_kindness
