And with that my Glasgow 2026 campaign has come to an end. I gave it my all but there can only be one winner and tonight that wasn’t me. Losing is always hard but it’s all part of this sport that I love so much.

I thank God who has been my constant throughout this journey. Thank you for this talent that you’ve blessed me with. Thank you for this opportunity Lord. The glory will forever and always go back to you.

Fa’afetai Samoa mo lau tapuaiga. Fa’afetai mo talosaga. It is always an honour to represent you my Samoa 🇼🇸

To my team who has made this all possible

Amateur boxing athlete Tino in prep for the Comm games with Coach Felipe.

Tino had a great stoppage victory during the tournament but unfortunately didn't medal.

The reality of competing at the highest levels means you don't always get the outcome you trained so hard for.

We're looking forward to seeing Tino back in the gym soon and preparing for his next chapter in his boxing career.

Coming into these games, my goal was always to get on that Podium. I thought this could push me to the next level & open doors to more opportunities

This is my second Comm games, both resulted the same way and this loss hurts more than the first.
2022 when things didn’t go my way, I walked away from amateur boxing.

Then last year, my coach asked if I wanted to go to the trials again for Samoa. It took me a few days to answer because I was scared of feeling that same heartbreak again.

But my wife encouraged me, to give it one more go, maybe this is part of Gods plan for you.

This time I went all in. I sacrificed a lot for this camp; my time, comfort, and even recovery at times, just to stay ready. I had a full team: dietician, s&c, recover my and wellness and good quality sparring. My family stepped in and helped me financially so I could stay home and train full-time.

Through it all, I held onto one belief:
“You Reap what you sow.”

No matter the outcome, I know I’ve planted seeds through hard work, sacrifice, and faith. I trust that everything I’ve put in will come back in God’s timing.

We just wait and see what’s next……….. by @tino_at

A proud effort from Samoa’s Marion Ah Tong 🇼🇸🥊

After defeating Kiribati’s Tavita Kaoma to book his place in the quarter-finals, Ah Tong’s Commonwealth Games journey has come to an end following a tough battle against Scotland’s Sonny Kerr.

The Samoan fighter showed heart and determination on the international stage, finishing just one win away from securing a Commonwealth medal. 🌺💪

A huge thank you to Marion for representing the blue and white and flying the Samoan flag proudly in Glasgow. 🇼🇸

The Commonwealth Games are around the corner, and amateur boxer @tino_at has been very persistent with his physical preparation with us.

Here, Coach Felipe runs through how his sessions are structured in his final weeks

Lots of his earlier prep revolved around creating solid foundations before shifting towards more power and rate of force development interventions to favour the springy and explosive qualities of amateur boxing

We are excited to see him perform on one of the biggest sporting stages in the world.

It's been a great preparation with a Commonwealth Games athlete @tino_at under the guide of Coach @silvagrowth

Tino came to us already as a good athlete.

He had a good foundation, which meant we could immediately start applying higher levels of intensity and volume in the lead up to the comm games.

He's had some great results over the last three months, and we look forward to seeing him performing.
