If you need your musical fix, come down to @frontroomwsm Saturday 7 November for a brand new improvised musical! by @tiymusical
It’s not Wednesday night... but it is improv, and it’s a good one! Our friends This Is Your Musical (@tiymusical) are coming to the @henandchicken on Friday 20 November. It’s one of Bristol’s best-loved sell-out shows, and we’re well excited to bring it back to a Bristol stage! Never seen it before? You're in for a treat! You give them a moment from your week, and their cast of brilliant improvisers (and a live band!) turn it into a brand-new musical: songs, choreography and a big final number, all made up on the spot. 📅 Friday 20 November, doors 19:30, show 20:00 📍 Hen & Chicken Studio (upstairs), North Street, Southville 🎟️ Tickets on Headfirst: link in the bio Where will tonight’s musical be set? That’s up to you. #ThisIsYourMusical #ImprovisedMusical #MusicalImprov #ImprovComedy #BristolComedy #BristolImprov #ThingsToDoInBristol #WhatsOnBristol #BristolEvents #Southville #HenAndChicken #MusicalTheatre by @tiymusical
We are desperately sad on the immediate closure of the Bristol Improv Theatre. A place which brought so much warmth and joy to its community, and was This Is Your Musical's home for almost 10 years. Our hearts are heavy and are with the staff impacted. This is so sudden and if we can support you in any way, please let us know. We're sorry to our audiences who have bought advanced tickets to TIYM; please do use the Bristol Improv Theatre's channels for more details on your tickets. This Is Your Musical will regroup and plan. We are incredibly grateful for our audience and the TIYM community for their ongoing support. For now, we grieve a wonderful space. by @tiymusical

There’s always one, and it’s always at 9pm... In the final video of our show at @frontroomwsm back in May, Thor (@gemmarevell ) grapples with the fact that they’ve been abandoned by their partner, but discovers that the path ahead could lead them to their true love (the perfect clown for the cabinet 🤡) And of course we can’t forget our MD, Ian, @iantowerspianist on piano This improvised song was inspired by a story from one of our wonderful audience members who found a clown marionette at the Cheddar car boot sale, and couldn’t resist taking it home 🤩 Video footage and cover photo by our tech extraordinaire for the evening, @alex.davey2 🎥 #improvisation #improvisedmusical #musical #supermarket #clown by @tiymusical

We think they saw and need a clown! Our couple Phil (Will @verasmis ) and Thor (Gemma @gemmarevell ) are discussing their love of clowns and how much they need a new clown to fit the big gaping space in their clown cabinet at home 🤡 Shout out to the incomparable Ian @iantowerspianist on piano and the best background clown, Maria @mariapetersimprov 👯‍♂️ This improvised song was inspired by a story from one of our wonderful audience members who found a clown marionette at the Cheddar car boot sale, and couldn't resist taking it home 🤩 Stay tuned for more clips from this completely improvised musical 'Thor and the Clown' 🥁 (as named by another member of the audience). A huge thank you Weston-Super-Mare for being such a fun audience and to @frontroomwsm for being such wonderful hosts - we had such a ball! We'd spend a thousand lifetimes watching this marionette madness! In our second scene, cast members Richard ( @richardkieswick ) and Maria ( @mariapetersimprov ) play a couple who get really passionate about a different thing each year. Last year was clowns; but now they've got their sights set on other things, so it's time to sell all the clown paraphernalia at the Cheddar car boot sale 🚙 including some clown marionettes 🤡 You can also hear the incomparable Ian ( @iantowerspianist ) on the piano, who makes improv sound composed 🎹 This completely improvised song was inspired by a story from one of our wonderful audience members who found a clown marionette at the Cheddar car boot sale, and couldn't resist taking it home 🤩 Stay tuned for more clips from this completely improvised musical 'Thor and the Clown' 🥁 (as named by another member of the audience) A huge thank you Weston-Super-Mare for being such a fun audience and to @frontroomwsm for being such wonderful hosts! Video footage and cover photo by our tech extraordinaire for the evening, @alex.davey2 🎥 You'll never see this show again, but if you fancy catching a brand new musical made up in front of your eyes, take a look in our bio for our next shows 🎟️ #improvisation #improvisedmusical #musical #chorus #comedy by @tiymusical
