Hi! I’m Tjade Bouma 👋 (I know, it’s a Frisian name). I run a creative studio in Amsterdam specialised in visual storytelling. Through graphic design, art direction & photography I create compelling visual narratives that blend concept and aesthetics—whether it’s creating brand identities or photo books, art directing magazines and posters or designing photo exhibitions. I also help photographers tell their story through 1:1 coaching, workshops and masterclasses. Next to my work as art director, I’m a portrait and street photographer. Photography, for me, is about imagination and wonder—transforming everyday moments into dreamlike compositions. Through stylised, graphic portraits and carefully composed street scenes, I try and find beauty in the unexpected and create images that go beyond the ordinary. Need help telling your story visually? 📸✨ Get in touch. #creativestudio #artdirection #graphicdesign #photography #streetphotography #portraits #visualstorytelling by @tjadebouma

Studio Tjade Bouma, together with @estudio_antonio, created the spatial design for Cantina, a collaboration between @wepresent × @faces_galerie during @rencontresdarles. For this month-long edition shop in Arles, we created an intervention within an existing restaurant, bringing the feel of an art pop-up and canteen together. Rather than transforming the original interior, we introduced a transparent layer of perspex and wireframe display structures, allowing the character of the space to remain visible throughout. Cantina brought together limited-edition prints by eight contemporary photographers, alongside iced drinks, art books and one-off merch. Exhibition design for Rapunzels at @faces_galerie in Marseille. A solo exhibition by the amazing Silvia Draz curated by @Wepresent. “Rapunzels” captures a community of women who use their extraordinarily long hair as a marker of identity, as a form of comfort, or even simply as a record of the life they’ve lived so far. One of my favourite projects to date. Looking back at the @wepresent Spring Show in Peckham, London, a celebration of everything WePresent has built over the years. Very proud to have created both the exhibition and spatial design for this project, transforming the venue into a layered environment of an exhibition, a cinema, a reading corner, a library, a shop and a bar. Centred around the theme of Belonging, the show brought together artists whose work explores identity, intimacy, memory and community. Huge shout out to @toni_tonete, my design partner in crime throughout this whole process. To creative producers Danielle Boelling (@danielleboelling)and Faye Quinn (@faye.quinn14) for making the impossible possible. To Alex Kahl for curating such a beautiful group of artists, and Marika Seo for creating the outstanding graphic identity. A special mention to the incredible team of @rae_blooms (and @evijakristopane) for the flower installations that completely transformed the atmosphere of the space. And of course a huge shoutout to everyone else involved in bringing this project to life. WePresent dream team:

I had the privilege of designing the very first @wepresent exhibition at @faces_galerie in Marseille. Throughout 2026, WePresent finds a new home in Marseille, bringing photography talent to the city. For this opening exhibition, we took the amazing Moustalgia by @mouslamrabat and @lisa_lea_j on tour from London.
An unforgettable week, a powerful show, and a smashing opening. Huge thanks to everyone involved. 🤍 WePresent

Exhibition design for ‘Moustalgia’ 💕

What a joy it was to work on this exhibition by Mous Lamrabat together with WePresent and the most incredible team of creatives. A nostalgia-soaked tribute to Mous’s childhood heroes, brought to life through a 90s-inspired teen bedroom. Walls covered in a collage of framed prints, posters, stickers, textures, and taped BTS moments. A space bursting with unfiltered joy and creativity. This one left me smiling. Thanks team for an unforgettable week 💛 Team @wepresent @danielleboelling @alex.kahl @hollymercedes27 @iiizft Polly Bussel Team Mous @mouslamrabat @lisa_lea_j @mariejuncker @assianacer @hmd_hbbi Graphic Design @marikaseo 3D Design @toni_tonete Exhibition images @hirobjones by @tjadebouma
