What happens when you stop asking for permission to take up space in your own body?

Meet Afnan — Omani, Afro-Arab, London-based tattoo artist and the creative behind Tokyo Baaby.
Her work sits at the intersection of identity, heritage and bodily autonomy — using the skin as a place to question, reclaim and rewrite.

Growing up between Muscat, Salalah and the West, Afnan knows what it means to exist between worlds.
And maybe that’s exactly why her work feels so personal.

Because sometimes reclaiming yourself starts with something as simple as deciding what belongs on your own skin.

I love and am in love with @msbhaive artwork, the sapphic SWANA/MENA representation made me feel seen in a way I hadn’t experienced before—and I’m sure I’m not the only one <3 <3
