🤖 MAXIMIZE YOUR PRACTICE TIME….

👉 Using Practice Mode inside of the @sportsboxai app.

🎯 Target a specific movement or position and get real time feedback on whether you executed it or not.

👋 No more sloppy practice sessions, trying to find a random feel that way work for a handful of shots!

👀 Check out the app and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any help with it!

Between this and Shadow Pro in the @skillestapp there is no excuse to not be optimizing practice time!

👉 THIS TAKEAWAY DRILL CLEANS THING UP….

👀 JK’s tendency is to lift the trail elbow too much in the takeaway which gets the club head high and too far outside the hands. From there the club can flop behind him and lead to pushes and hooks.

🙌 This obstacle drill using the @touraimgolf is a perfect one to give us feedback in the takeaway and that sets the stage to clean up the second half of the backswing by getting the club a bit more vertical.

🦶CLEANING UP THE FOOTWORK….

👌Great work here from CM tidying up the way that her trail foot was working through the swing.

📝 We are trying to keep the big toe of the trail foot engaged with the ground in the backswing but the big gains came from these 2 simple drills using a spray can (or water bottle).

🙌 This helped get some pressure to the lead side which got the club falling into some beautiful positions from down the line. This made the path more neutral and moved the low point forward. by @tommurtaghgolf

📈 PLANING IT OUT….

👉 MD using the @irangesports_ + Mag Stick to make sure that the club is more planed off at the top of the backswing with his wedges.

🙌 This means less moving parts on the way down so that it’s easier to sync up the arms with the body and not have to work so hard to shallow the club on the swing that are less than full.

Shout out to the @irangesports_ - not only is it great for filming swings, we can train with it too! by @tommurtaghgolf

🌊 WAVE AWAY YOUR LOSS OF POSTURE….

👉 I see a lot of golfers lifting out of posture in the backswing. Typically this causes a flattening of the shoulder plane and golf club and a reactionary over the top downswing. It’s a classic slice pattern!

🙌 The @tidaltanktraining does an amazing job of training the golfer to stay in posture as they turn to the top of the backswing. The weight of the water falling to the lead side of the tank ensures we get the backswing correct. From there we can sequence the downswing properly and use the tank to extend into a beautiful finish position.

💪This device isn’t just good for the swing, it’s a fantastic training tool for any rotational athlete. by @tommurtaghgolf

📈 LESSON UPGRADES….

👉 Here’s how RG got the club in a better position at the top of the backswing to start striking it better and hit baby draws.

• Increasing forward bend at address.

• Increasing hand depth and lowering lead arm by not moving pressure into toes and getting hands moving more inwards in the takeaway.

• @prosendrgolf gave us a great cue for adding some trail wrist bend 👌 by @tommurtaghgolf

👉 TRY THESE TO FIX YOUR REVERSE SPINE ANGLE….

📝 SD has done some nice work fixing his club face and backswing and it’s now time to eliminate the reverse spine angle so that he can better sequence the downswing and control his path and angle of attack.

This is one of the most common faults that I see on the lesson tee and these are some of my favorite ways to gain the new pattern. Check them out and let me know which ones you’re going to try! by @tommurtaghgolf

👉 MAPPING THE FUTURE….

🙌 Great session with CR talking about where we are going next. He’s already made some really nice upgrades but here is the blueprint of what we’re trying to create from an improved takeaway and with better balance/pressure.

💣 TRYING TO HIT BOMBS TO HELP YOU DO THE SAME….

👉 Here are 7 things that I learned from the @mytpi Power Level 3 seminar in Oceanside, CA that I’ve immediately started implemented into my own training.

💪My goal is to be cruising at 180mph ball speed by the end of this winter. Going faster is fun but I also want to test these things to be better able to recommend them for my players.

✅ MAKE A BETTER BACKSWING….

👉 With this simple variation of the ‘Don’t Drop The Ball’ drill.

📝 Setup to the golf ball with a ball trapped between your lead hip and a wall.

🛑 If your lower body sways the ball will drop. This often leads to a reverse spine angle at the top of the backswing.

🛑 A reverse pivot will press the ball into the wall.

🙌 We want the trail hip to gap away from the club a little bit whilst keeping the ball against the wall (around a fist is a good referance) without increasing pressure into the ball.

👉 NOTE….Plenty of good ball strikers will move to the trail side early where the ball would drop. However, they know how to move from there to get to good positions at the top and sequence the rest of the swing effectively. This is for the masses of recreational players that sway and get into trouble! by @tommurtaghgolf

🙌 HARD WORK PAYING OFF….

👉 JK getting the club into some beautiful positions and striking the ball great in this after swing.

📝 At the beginning of summer we laid out the steps of this change and why it was necessary to make. This hasn’t come easily and it still needs reps to hold in place so that it sticks under pressure.

👀 In the before images you can see the trail elbow worked back and up causing the hands to lift and the club to stay too far outside of the hands. From there the club would flop over and get laid off at the top. Being a good athlete, JK could still hit plenty of good shots but sometimes he’d get stuck and other times the club would flop back over the plane and he’d hit pulls with short irons. Now the club is working up and down on a much more similar plane and is far more repeatable.

👊This student was committed to the process, has worked his tail off and I’m excited for what’s around the corner. by @tommurtaghgolf
