There are moments in life that feel both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time.

This is one of those moments.

Soon, I’ll be closing a chapter that began with a skiing accident when I was 16…a chapter that ultimately led me to my work, purpose, and life I have today.

This isn’t just a knee I’m replacing. It’s been one of my greatest teachers.

When I was 16, I tore my ACL in a skiing accident. Over the next 15 years, I underwent three knee reconstructions, countless hours of rehabilitation, and more setbacks and victories than I can count.

Today, my knee is bone-on-bone with arthritis, calcification, and bone spurs. After meeting with my surgeon, I was told what I knew deep down was coming: it’s time for a total knee replacement.

As bittersweet as this feels, I can’t help but be grateful for everything this knee has given me.

It taught me patience, resilience, and the incredible ability of our bodies to heal and adapt. It guided me toward rehabilitation, Pilates, and ultimately my life’s work. It gave me purpose, compassion, and a passion for helping others move with confidence.

In many ways, TONEpilates exists because of this knee.

For years, I’ve lived with daily pain. This knee limited me in many ways, but it also gave me so much. While I had to let go of activities I loved, it led me to Pilates, gave me a purpose, and ultimately shaped the life and career I’m so grateful for today.

Now, I’m excited for what’s ahead. I’m looking forward to moving without pain, hiking, skiing, traveling, and simply discovering what life feels like on the other side.

I’m anxiously waiting for my surgery date, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

I wanted to share this because this journey has shaped so much of who I am. I’ll be sharing my recovery, and rehabilitation in my stories if you’d like to follow along.

To everyone who has reached out with love, prayers, encouragement, and support...thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so grateful for my friends in this incredible community.

Here’s to honoring the chapters that shaped us… and embracing the ones still to come.

Some places never leave you.

This little bridge on Lieutenant Island Road in Wellfleet was my favorite spot as a child. When I visited my grandmother on Cape Cod, I would spend hours here catching hermit crabs and fiddler crabs, watching the tide roll in and out, and staring out at the marsh through her big picture windows.

The smell of salt air still feels like home.

If you timed it wrong, high tide would swallow the bridge…but somehow that just made it feel even more magical.

So much has changed since those summers, but the feeling of being near the water remains the same. It slows me down, clears my mind, and reminds me of who I’ve always been.

And apparently… I still can’t pass up a sturdy railing for a set of incline push-ups. 😂

Do you have a place that instantly takes you back to childhood?

Would love to know!

xo Cort

Unilateral training reveals everything.🙌🏻

Single arm strap work with continuous opposite leg movement challenges the body to organize from the inside out… requiring stability, coordination, breath, and control across multiple chains of movement.

I love using a lighter spring for work like this because it shifts the focus away from force and into recruitment.
The body has to stabilize intelligently rather than grip or overpower.

The anchored arm creates connection through the shoulder and trunk while the moving leg asks the pelvis and core to remain responsive and steady through motion.
Subtle work… but incredibly deep. 🔥

And this is one of the things I love most about Pilates…there is always space for exploration, awareness, and growth within movement. Every body experiences recruitment differently, which is why mindful movement can meet us exactly where we are. There’s beauty in that individuality, and also in the shared experience of moving together as a community. ✨

Strength isn’t always about more resistance. Sometimes it’s about more awareness.

❤️Always …Cort

Add a ball. Change everything. 🎾✨

What feels simple at first… suddenly asks more of you:
more control, more awareness, more connection.

The moment you add the ball, everything has to organize differently.
Your core responds before anything else…supporting, stabilizing, and guiding each movement with intention.

You feel:
✨ deeper core activation
✨ inner thighs gently switching on
✨ improved pelvic stability
✨ more control through every transition

It’s not about making things harder…
it’s about making them more connected.

The body can’t just move…it has to coordinate.

And I love how something so small can bring so much depth into the work.

And honestly… anytime someone invites me to join in, I’m in! 😊 @bonniezeitner I love this community so much 🤍 Passing the ball to some tagged friends! 🎾❣️

A simple idea, shared in so many beautiful ways…reminding us that we’re all connected through movement 🤍

Sending love and light ✨

Just hanging out… upside down 🙃✨

There’s something about ladder barrel work that just hits different. ✨Stretchy, strengthening, slightly humbling🥴… and oddly addictive. And I always love to feel the quiver! 🫨

Inversions help decompress the spine, wake up your core, and give your body that “ahhh” feeling you didn’t know you needed.
Plus… a little perspective shift never hurts 😉

Equal parts control + surrender.

Where are all my ladder barrel lovers?! 🤍

Happy Friday!!

Taking the springs away changes everything. 🌀🚫

No assistance.
No hiding.
Just pure strength, control, and isolated movement.

Joining my friends @bonniezeitner @pilatespowercenter for this 🔥🌀No Springs Fling Challenge🌀🔥 This challenge reminded me how powerful the fundamentals are …shoulder stability, deep core connection, hip control, and spinal articulation all working without external feedback.

The shake isn’t weakness… it’s awareness.

And I am beyond grateful for this supportive Pilates community that keeps movement playful, challenging, and deeply connected 🤍 Tagging some friends to join the fun!!!🌀🔥

Sending out good vibes always,
✌️Cort

Movement doesn’t need to be fancy. 🤍

Sometimes a simple staircase is all it takes to do meaningful, effective work. 🪜🙌

Here I’m using the stairs for:
• ankle strength + control
• calf and Achilles mobility
• hamstring length without forcing
• quad + hip flexor opening with support

This is the kind of everyday movement I love…practical, intentional, and surprisingly powerful.
It supports your joints, improves balance, and helps your body feel more at ease.
A railing becomes your stability, a step becomes your prop, and suddenly your body has everything it needs.

And yes… quick drive-by from Kevin because Pilates is rarely a solo practice around here 🐾

Save this for later, try it at home, and remember: smart movement doesn’t need fancy equipment… just awareness and consistency.

Try this…and lets me know what you think!

🤍Cort

Spinal articulation is one of the most powerful things we can do for our body ✨

Moving the spine through flexion, extension, and rotation keeps it resilient, nourished, and adaptable… not stiff or stuck.

Using the sling with Tower springs creates informed support so the body can:

✨ decompress and lengthen the spine
✨ build strength without gripping
✨ explore range of motion with control and confidence
✨ move more freely while staying deeply connected

The sling allows you to trust the movement, find ease where you normally hold tension, and experience articulation in a way that feels both supported and empowering.

And of course… Kevin is here to supervise every rep 🐾

✨ Question for you:
Which direction does your spine crave the most right now… flexion, extension, or rotation?

As always…with love and light✨

Instagram has a special way of bringing the right people into your life… and this day was such a beautiful reminder of that. What started as following, supporting, and cheering each other on from our screens has grown into real-life friendships that bring so much joy. ✨

Siri, Andy, Jenn and I have gotten together over the past few years, and every time we do, it feels amazing. We laughed nonstop, moved our bodies, created fun Pilates poses together, and truly enjoyed being present with one another.

There’s something so powerful about women who show up not only for themselves, but for each other. Women who encourage, collaborate, share ideas, and lift one another higher. This community has become a space filled with positivity, inspiration, and genuine connection… and I’m so grateful to be part of it.

Holiday endorphins + supportive friends + a whole lot of laughter = the perfect way to close out the year.
Our hearts are so full. 🤍

Happy Holidays! 🎄
