Yah’ll, today I was able to utilize my own VELscope! 😩😍🙌🏾 It is a non-invasive oral cancer screening device.

*Slide left to see what it can do/an assessment I did*

over 50,000 North Americans will have oral cancer this year.

Many people have oral cancer right now and don’t even know it.

ORAL CANCER DOESN’T MAKE A SOUND SO YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP!

Utilizing this quick enhanced oral assessment system can offer a 83% survival rate if detected!

💜Fun fact: During my entire dental hygiene journey I was adamant on being an electronic/paperless student. 🚫📓📚

My all time favorite go-to note taking app was the @notabilityapp!!! Cause sis.....bruh whose gonna carry all those notes/books⁉️

I loved having ALL of my notes and books in ONE place... my IPad Pro💜

Anywho, shirt is from @toothlocker 👀...enjoy! 🎃 by @toothfullybritt

Let’s talk about the many roles of the dental hygienist !

We are:

🦷Educators: We use educational theory and methodology to educate competent oral health professionals or provide continuing education for licensed providers.

🦷Clinicians- We provide direct patient care in collaboration with other health professionals.

🦷Advocators- For health promotion and disease prevention.

🦷Administrators- We apply organizational skills, communicate objectives, identify and manage resources, evaluate and modify health or education programs.

🦷Researchers- We conduct studies to test new procedures, products, or theories for accuracy and effectiveness.

🦷PUBLIC HEALTH!!!
We are huge on enhancing access to care in community health programs!

🦷Our goal is to aid individuals and groups in attaining and maintaining optimum oral health.

I love what I do. Find something you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life!!💜💜💜💜
