POSTS STORIES REELS

I have been delaying posting this for several weeks for many reasons, but I think it’s time I share it:

I am participating in the People’s Artist. I am reaching out to seek your support in voting for me for a chance to exhibit some of my art at Elysium in Los Angeles. If you have seen my art and you like it, I would so greatly appreciate your vote 🙂 and the neat thing is that the votes renew every day.

“Blooming Vision” was the first painting I made with a desire to recreate a dream-like state. A girl dancing in joy and spinning while throwing flowers mid-dance. Everything else is a blur and nothing else matters.

Her dress was initially green, but after a long time seeing her in green, I felt it didn’t complement her and the feeling of the piece. The final blue color with a slight green undertone worked perfectly together, that it’s as if the first green layer was meant to be!

“Blooming Vision” is now in the home of someone who saw it for what I intended this piece for.

I started this painting with a mix of emotions. It was not meant to start that way. It was meant to come from a happy place, but my heart is hurting.

And that is okay! We are human meant to feel what this world throws at us. This is why this painting had to start where it is starting.

When finished, I hope that it is admired from every angle of life. It is not always meant to be enjoyed in your best moment.

One of my favorite parts about making art is finding frames that pair well with my work. 🖼️

It is interchangeable- whether I find something that fits an existing piece perfectly or I curate a frame that speaks to me and inspires me to create something new.

The majority of the frames I find tend to carry a story with them or are sourced by some of my favorite framing service shops!

“Dance of Defiance” 24x36 in
is currently displayed at Sunrise Bakery in South Padre Island, Tx ( @sunrisebakeryspi ).

It’s one of the paintings I am most proud of and would like to recreate on a larger scale soon.
This piece, to me, gives me a feeling of resilience in the storms, but also have a flit of joy and play in the middle of difficult times. The inspiration was honestly out of thin air, but part of constantly experimenting ideas.

Please stop by, grab a pastry and a coffee (best in town!) and check out this painting and others I have in person!

Rainy days get me into painting! But I recommend painting on better lighting 😅

This is a quick practice session where I stick to using one brush and see how fast I finish, which took me about an hour. #oilpainting #artbusiness #southtexas by @tornasolstudio

It has been so long since I have posted. I feel like I was “nonexistent” creatively and within myself for at least a month in a space that was so mentally draining. I was feeling like I lost a month of creativity, productivity, and physical training. But I am glad I have finally freed myself from that. Sometimes you have to make choices to stop yourself from reliving events you have already gone through. You are stronger now than you were before and you understand what limits you have now and know to respect yourself enough to not have to live it again.

Is it really a waste of time if you discover your resilience is notably different, however? I’m going to wager it’s not.

This week, my husband and I embarked on an adventure. He fueled my love for horses and refreshed my childhood memories. We learned about horses and connected with them from an amazing teacher with so much knowledge and respect for these extraordinary animals. I’m very grateful that we were able to experience this together and that we will continue to venture this path in some way, shape, or form.

From brushing their hair, setting up the saddle, to riding, it has been quite the bonding experience and learning about the pattern of their fur, to their difference in muscle definition amongst breeds and body-types.

“Communion” is a small piece I had painted a while back, but one that does not deviate from what this week’s experience was like. To me, it is bonding by doing the most mundane in the presence of one another. Coming closer together with each other
without even having to exchange eye contact.

This piece is now available in my website amongst more of my original art! More to come 🫶

A little bit ASMR for your Monday ☺️

This is my first painting of the year, titled “Dance of Defiance.” It is a smaller version of a painting I want to make for my living space. Adjusting the placement of the horses to make the composition of the piece make sense was challenging.
What are your thoughts on this painting and what does it make you feel?

A room full of paintings.
An artist painting live.
A slow song in the background.

Nothing to finish.
Nothing to hurry.
Just the quiet joy of watching art exist in real time.

If you’ve been craving a moment like this,
you’ll find it at the Art Business Incubator.

This is a little general snippet (from my perspective) of what happens in a resident artist’s day at the Art Business Incubator of South Padre Island! Its never a dull moment and there is always something fun going on ✨
It’s wonderful, and I’m sure many of the present and past artists who were part of this program have similar and even more diverse experiences.

Check out the artists at @artsouthpadre that are making art on the daily and see the workshops that are available this month along with upcoming events like our joint show Guilded Coast!
