Who said 2m by 2.5m is too small for a family bathroom? I spent so many late nights planning this out, ordering samples, mocking up layouts, and our builders @twilliamspropertyservices absolutely knocked it out of the park. Going with the flow every time I changed my mind or wanted to work through an idea in a 6am voicenote. It’s functional. It has closed storage for kids toys and open shelving for skin care. It’s timeless because I can update paint colours constantly. And after 6 months of kitchen sink hair washes that shower leaves me speechless. Big shout out to my grandparents for loaning me the money to get this going so we could have a bathroom this year. And I’m going to share all the details of where we bought everything and how I saved money tomorrow. Spoiler - we’re talking how @mandarinstoneofficial marble tiles are the lynch pin of this whole design. The first room of the house is complete (well except for those skirting boards). I’m so excited to share every detail with you. But for now - just enjoy imagining this was your playground to grow up in. Cillian is so in love with his room. With the shelves in every corner for books, the rechargeable bedside wall lamp with his own remote control, the hot air balloons accenting walls and ceiling. It was a labour of love and I’m soaking up every moment of bedtime stories from now on. What do you want to know first? Want to hear about this weeks F-up? These skirting boards have been my arch nemesis in Maisie’s room. On some walls they’re literally pulling the wall down. Like the battons are coming away with the plaster and the skirting. And the worst bit? I only realised after I’d hacked into one that the old plugs mounted to the front hadn’t damaged the skirting. They could have stayed on!!! by @imogen.coles

I desperately need your help in Maisie’s room and I have to decide by this weekend. We have 2 wallpapers to choose from the first I’m calling “Ottoline balls” the second “pink wiggles” (you’ll see what I mean when you scroll). Now keep in mind, the room next door is very beige and warm. So I’m nervous of this room becoming flat should I focus on similar yellow tones. I also think I’m a little nervous of the pink wiggles being overbearing in a small bedroom. But honestly I flip flop on this daily. So for one final time. …to give me the answer to this never ending wallpaper problem. These ceilings are 3m high and this wallpaper is not coming off. I’ve tried steaming it, taking knives to it, razors. It won’t come off. The top 3 layers of wallpaper were easy but now we’re down to paint, backing paper and some weird lead glue solution (yes I know I know - the kids aren’t home and aren’t going near it). It won’t come off. Educate me - what do I do. Because this small element from yesterday took 2 hours. #diyadvice #londonrenovation #victorianrenovation by @imogen.coles

Make your own cafe curtains cheaply and in about 3 steps with zero sewing ability. Not sure why I’m so aggressive during this video -let’s go with it. £133 for marble bathroom surround and shelves? Ok then! Any other questions that I haven’t ticked off? Tiles @mandarinstoneofficial (no I’m not a partner I just love them so much) Grout @kerakolluk Build wise, this is all done on a standard wooden frame the builders made as with any other insert bath. And when your builder says they “can’t work with marble” tell them to stop being soft. The beauty of these tiles is you only need to cut them on the end with a standard tile cutter. And if you do the border as we did you’ll only need to make 2 cuts for the whole job.
