Arncliffe, thank you! Alot of happy times and countless training hours shared here over the past few years. From hobbyists to competitors and everything in between, it's been such a fun place to be because of all you people. My absolute honour to be apart of it and train with you all!

As this chapter closes, another opens. Look forward to being able to teach and train with everyone over at kogarah! See you guys soon ! ❤️🙏🏻 by @trainwgi

Great turnout today for our gym sparring day at kogarah! Missing a few of the boys here but really proud of my crew from Arncliffe heading out and giving it a crack today. Plenty more work to do, see you lot on Monday !! ❤️🥊🔥 by @trainwgi

🥊 Sparring to follow

A massive thank you to my trainer @trainwgi Gi Low 🙏 — for pushing me, being patient, and always guiding me to sharpen not only my skills but also my mindset. Couldn’t ask for a better mentor in this sport.

I’m pumped to showcase the hard work, discipline, and training that’s gone in with my team. Win, lose, or learn — it’s all about growth and pushing to the next level. 🔥

Let’s go Arncliffe! 👊💪

Heavy bag work!🥊

Currently looking after injuries with both my knees so im continuing to practice my skills with boxing.

I teach alot of students who struggle with what to do when hitting the heavy bag. Since it's self directed learning, if you do not get taught how to use it, it feels boring. If done right however, it can become a fantastic conditioning tool, a place to refine your technique, power shots, and visualisation skills.

hopefully you can see me working exactly that in the video

Tips! ⭐

Cast an image of yourself- roughly visualise the dimensions of yourself on the heavy bag. This will encourage you to be thoughtful on where and how you place your shots. Do not fall into the trap of mindlessly throwing your shots at anywhere on the bag as this lacks any purpose or intention.

Have a aim- what is your goal for the workout? Are you trying to improve your conditioing? Your power? Your skills and combinations? Having a clear task on what you aim to do for your bag rounds will leave you feeling satisfied as it felt like meaningful work.

Adjust your workout- If your doing the heavy bag as a main workout, you could consider a sizeable amount of bag rounds. If it's extra work before or after a class, you can do a warm up/ finisher like skip knees, teeps and kicks or explosive intervals to finish a session.

Personally, if I am practicing my technique and skills, I opt for longer round times upwards of 10 minutes. This ensures I can refine my technique and get the correct amount of repetiitons in.

For conditioning, I enjoy work anywhere between 3-5 minutes a round. High intensity intervals like 15 seconds on 15 seconds off work really well.

So there ya go! Don't skip your heavy bag work! Learn this, and you can take the skills anywhere that has a heavy bag remember that.

Hopefully this helps someone out there.
Any questions about training, feel free to comment or DM 🙏❤️
