Perfectionists, unite 🤜🏽🤛🏽 Hey if we haven’t met, my name is Anthony. I run Transparent Digital and help ecommerce brands turn email into a real profit engine by pulling the retention levers for their specific brand. This all started when I was CMO at an ecom brand that we grew to nearly $5M/year with a team of 6, running ads on every platform there is and figuring out, the hard way, scaling ads meant you got eaten alive by CAC and email was the one channel that actually moved profit on the P&L. Instead of selling you a course, my team and I go into your email account, fix the deliverability nobody can explain, rebuild your flows, and report on profit after our own fee, not just revenue. I’ve now been responsible for over $60 million in email/SMS revenue and still have clients who have been with us from the very beginning. Want to know if your emails are even landing in the inbox and moving the needle on the bottom line? Just comment “AUDIT” and I’ll personally do a free audit of your email account. by @transparentdigital.agency
Most subscription brands send the same 5 emails on repeat. Sale. Product highlight. Review highlight. Blog push. Repeat. Then they wonder why subscribers churn and one-time buyers never convert. Here are 25 campaign types any $2M+ consumables brand should be testing, split by where the customer is: Pre-purchase builds enough trust that they buy, and ideally subscribe.
Post-purchase keeps them subscribed longer and raises what they spend per order. The post-purchase side is where most brands leave the most money on the table. Prepaid subscriptions, size upgrades, and subscriber-first restocks barely get touched. Save this for your next campaign calendar. Sending more emails isn’t the fix for falling revenue. Run these 4 checks, and don’t skip the last one if you want your biggest Q4 yet. Under a 10/10? Comment “SEND” and I’ll DM you the 21-step guide to fix your email deliverability for Black Friday. by @transparentdigital.agency
Sure, tire kickers and code hunters will still unsubscribe. They were never yours to keep.
The rest don’t leave because they dislike the brand, they leave because nothing in your inbox gives them a reason to open the next one.
The brands people actually look forward to do 3 things differently,
Save this for your next email calendar: 1️⃣ Build a signature series. Sent on the same day, same time that solves one new problem or answers a new question each week. Subscribers start waiting for it. 2️⃣ Hide the offer. Some emails get no hint of a sale in the subject line or preview. Bury a secret offer near the bottom. Now people open and scroll every time because your emails have trained them to do that, just in case. 3️⃣ Make them laugh. We get so lost in selling our products that we forget to have fun. A funny (or unhinged) email can stop the scroll and manufacture engagement faster than another discount. by @transparentdigital.agency
Leading every email with an offer doesn’t just look desperate, it gives subscribers banner blindness. Offer emails are essential, but educational ones build the goodwill that makes them work. Gem from @iacovone . Turn one topic into a week-long email series. Follow for more ecom email strategy. by @transparentdigital.agency
5 email ideas/best practices that don’t always hold up. DM me “AUDIT” and I’ll do a free audit of your ecom brand. by @transparentdigital.agency
You spend $60 to get a customer. Is that good or bad? Depends on how fast you make it back. They spend $100, you keep $40 after costs, so you need $20 more to break even. Brand A: 1 in 4 buy again, twice over the next 12 months. Brand B: half buy again within 60 days. Both make their $60 back. Brand A in 12 months. Brand B in 2. That means Brand B can put the same $60 back into ads 6 times a year. Brand A, once. That’s why some brands can afford to pay more to acquire a customer. They’re not always better at getting the first sale. They’re better at getting the second. by @transparentdigital.agency

Sometimes customers see the lower $ savings offer as higher value. Use that. 3 ways to make a smaller discount feel bigger (according to behavioral economics): 1. Rule of 100. Under $100, show the percent. Over $100, show the dollars. “$30 off” a $200 order hits harder than “15% off.” 2. Give a gift, not a discount. A free $25 item feels worth more than $25 off, and it only costs you the COGS. Can’t do a free gift? A $25 discount code framed as a gift can be just as effective. 3. Make it free. “Free shipping” can be more compelling than “$8 off” because people overvalue anything that costs zero. Same margin. Bigger perceived win. by @transparentdigital.agency
This is something that @iacovone talks about a lot, but I’m often stunned at how many ecom founders don’t know their contribution margin. You can make so much gross revenue it makes you sick, if you don’t have visibility on how much you’re bringing home after product costs, deliver costs, and marketing costs, you’re flying blind and could be on a one-way trip to “out of business” any day. Do you know your brands contribution margin? by @transparentdigital.agency
One email, triggered the moment someone buys, pushed one brand’s month-zero repurchase to nearly 11% for single-item orders. Comment “AUDIT” and I’ll do a free audit of your ecom brand. Are you going to test this strategy? by @transparentdigital.agency
“Can we send to our entire list this time?” We can do everything but flap our arms and fly, but we have to live with the consequences. Sending to your full list not only negatively affects deliverability, but also often drives NO meaningful difference in revenue (See image) Stop sending to your entire list, create a segmentation strategy that touches the people outside of engaged segments methodically to get them to engage or unsubscribe. Send smarter. by @transparentdigital.agency
