Our 2026 Ontario Tree Pageant wrapped up on Saturday with a celebration of the winning Cucumber Tree in St. George! Thank you to the 60 people who showed up to support and learn about this great tree! A big shoutout to our wonderful judges for joining us and for choosing a fantastic tree - Paul Zammit, Judy Maddren, Terry Schwan and MPP Mike Schreiner, thank you! Thank you MP Dan Muys, MPP Will Bauma and Brant County Mayor David Bailey for coming to the celebration and taking the time to speak to the audience. Thank you the @littleparisbreadco for their generous donation of delicious treats for the ceremony! 🍪 And a big thank you to the Kutt family for nominating their tree and hosting this event. You have been excellent stewards and advocates of this special tree and went above and beyond to spread the message of protecting mature trees! The pageant was made possible this year by the generous support of the Ecclestone Financial Group. by @treetrusttrees
On Saturday, Erin Tree Trust held its first-ever Tree of the Year event at the Tree Trust and @overherecommunityartsadventure “Arts by the Pond” at the Hillsburgh Library! The chapter celebrated their winning tree with an art show featuring 30+ original works by 28 talented artists, each interpreting Erin’s Tree of the Year: an impressive 160-year-old American elm, fondly known as “Henry” by Town of Erin residents in honour of Henry Koch. It was such a heartfelt day. Seeing the incredible community support for this special tree was truly moving - the love for Henry was overflowing! 💚 A huge thank you to the many people who came out to experience the artwork, learn more about Henry, and celebrate this remarkable tree. Thank you as well to everyone who donated, and to the talented artists who brought this exhibition to life. Finally, thank you to @erin.rotary and @townoferin for their generous support in helping us run this event! We were also thrilled that the homeowners living on the property beside Henry were able to come out and experience the day with us. A special thanks to Mayor Mike Dehn, Councillor Bridget Ryan, and Ali Morrison from the Elm Recovery Project at the U of G Arboretum for joining us on stage and sharing a few words about this special tree and the work being done to protect and recover the species. If you missed Saturday’s show, don’t worry! The artwork has now moved to Town Hall, where it will be on display for an additional month. More details to come! by @treetrusttrees

We walk past them every day, but have you ever stopped to think about the value of a single tree? On a recent lunch walk, we explored The Quiet Work of One Tree, a tool from Tree Trust, an environmental non-profit dedicated to protecting and preserving mature urban trees. From carbon storage and stormwater management to shade and improved air quality, mature trees provide some pretty incredible benefits to our communities. At Georgette Packaging, we love supporting initiatives that help protect our urban forests and raise awareness about the importance of preserving the trees we already have. OK, your turn! Take a walk, find your favourite tree, and try The Quiet Work of One Tree to discover its impact. You might be surprised by just how much it does! 🔗 Explore the tool via the link in our LinkTree. #TreeTrust #UrbanTrees #TreeConservation #EnvironmentalAwareness #GeorgettePackaging by @treetrusttrees

What a great day of learning at Little Falls Public School! On September 25, Stratford Perth Tree Trust visited the school in St. Marys to care for a mature tree alongside Tim’s Tree Care. 🌲 Braedon Witt then led students on a guided tree walk, helping them connect with the trees around them. We also returned to the school to plant a sapling as part of our ongoing commitment to tree education and environmental stewardship.
