Milky Way at Lake Norring, Western Australia Nikon d810a - 50mm - ISO 6400 - f/3.2 Foreground: 5 x 30 seconds Sky: 12 x 30 seconds iOptron SkyTracker Hoya Red Intensifier filter This is a 17 shot panorama of the Milky Way rising above Lake Norring near Wagin, about 2.5 hours south east of Perth in Western Australia. I was lucky again to have very calm conditions giving me some nice reflections of the sky above. This lake is just south of Wagin and part of a multi lake system and also a popular camping spot with several groups of people camping there this particular night. I also came face to face with one permanent resident of the lake, a Western Ringtail Possum, climbing a dead tree as I walked past. He just stared at me, not bothered at all, probably just curious as, being a nocturnal animal, he perhaps wasn't used to seeing us humans out and about in the middle of the night :) #milkyway #space #astrophotography #astronomy #astro #nightskyphotography  #starrynight #westernaustralia #nightsky  #milkywayshooters #milkywaychasers #nightphotography #photographerfocus #ftlscience #astrosprout #thisis_space #natgeotravel #natgeospace #universetoday #astrography_ #nightscaper #astrophoto #ig_astrophotography #milkywaypics #nightskape #astronomyphotography #landscape_nightscape #nights_dreamworld #yourshotphotographer #astrotourismwa by @trevordobson_astro

Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) at Stirling Dam, Western Australia Big thanks to @viratshah and @gregrowney for inviting me (along with @the_nickster13 and @shishir_bohra) out to witness the aurora for the first time. Had no idea what I was doing to capture these, which is quite different to normal Milky Way photography, but with a bit of advice from Virat and Greg I managed to get by 😁 #aurora #space #astrophotography #astronomy #astro #nightskyphotography #starrynight #westernaustralia #nightsky #milkywayshooters #milkywaychasers #nightphotography #photographerfocus #ftlscience #astrosprout #thisis_space #natgeotravel #natgeospace #universetoday #astrography_ #nightscaper #astrophoto #ig_astrophotography #milkywaypics #nightskape #astronomyphotography #landscape_nightscape #nights_dreamworld #yourshotphotographer #southernlights by @trevordobson_astro

Star Trails at The Pinnacles Desert, Western Australia Nikon d5500 - 11mm - ISO 2500 - f/3.2 - 822 x 30 seconds Another star trails image taken at the Pinnacles Desert earlier in the year, not far from the spot I took the other image from that I posted earlier, though in retrospect I probably should have chosen a different pinnacle as they do look quite similar! #startrails #astro #nightscape #astrophotography #westernaustralia by @trevordobson_astro
