POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Over the last year, I’ve made almost weekly trips to 10th Planet Airlock.

It’s been special to have such a fantastic 10th Planet moon nearby and be a part of this early stage of its development.

A few Thursday nights ago, we sat around a table at the only restaurant in Bastrop with a kitchen still open after rolling. Looking around, I saw a team that reminded me of 10th Planet Austin six or seven years ago.

Everyone still knows each other, but the room has grown enough that people know something special is happening.

On September 10th, eight black belts came together to watch @reivjiujitsu10p promote @thixsonlife to brown belt—so many of them invested in the success of @10pairlock.

Rei has led the squad since Day 1. @cbennettt moved from @10ptucson to bring another black belt coach to the mats, and @curtis10p promoted Rei to black belt to help the school make the move to 10P.

Rei and Tyler had planned that move for years. The Austin, Tucson, and Kansas City black belts in the system all knew about their plans.

Rei and Tyler made it happen as they entered their third full year in Bastrop.

Tyler’s Jiu Jitsu has reached the brown belt level, but what means the most to me is that he understands what 10th Planet and Jiu Jitsu are all about.

His idea to run Airlock After Dark every Thursday has brought more than 30 black belts to coach in Bastrop over the last year. Curtis and I ran their 40th edition.

Tyler cares about the association. He understands that Jiu Jitsu is the vehicle through which everything flows: building stronger people who can build stronger communities.

It’s not about one individual. It’s about building a room filled with people willing to give more than they take.

That’s how you create more. You build a room of people who push each other to be more.

And that’s why 10th Planet Airlock is the place to be in Bastrop, Texas.

See you TONIGHT at @10pairlock for Airlock After Dark! 👨‍🚀

Our first Memorial Day Ruck and Roll to benefit @wedefyfoundation was special 🇺🇸 This team raised over $400 so far today for a mission we believe in: providing disabled veterans with the opportunity to train jiu jitsu and to join our amazing worldwide community of martial artists 🫡 And there’s still time for us to raise funds this weekend…

This weekend, we’re honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our liberty 🗽 It’s a purpose that’s close to our hearts with our many veteran and active duty members along with our head coach and 20 year Army veteran @reivjiujitsu10p here at 10th Planet Airlock 🇺🇸

If you’d like to be involved this Memorial Day, you can:

1. Visit the link in our bio to donate and/or buy a Ruck and Roll T Shirt 👕
2. Tell a veteran about We Defy Foundation and its mission so they can find an approved gym near them (if it’s in Bastrop, that’s us at 10P Airlock) 🪖
3. Follow us to join in at our next event to benefit We Defy around Veterans Day 🎖️

Shout out to our WD ambassador @grogg_cain for organizing a phenomenal first fundraising event 👏 and to @nick.shumpis_loansandlockdowns for being a great advocate of this organization 👇👌
