Dear Arfy, I believe you should be my dog because….
Persuasive letter writing based on the picture book #canibeyourdog by @troxcummings This was a fun activity allowing students to create a little letter using this basic knowledge of persuasive texts. We have just begun to learn about how to create a persuasive text by learning to state an opinion and follow this up with a reason and an example. Some students decided Arfy needed to be a cat! I like how creative some students were and most don’t own a pet dog. Learning if fun when students are engaged and create! Next up we learn more about OREOs!

Otto est une boule de Noël. Il est pailleté, coloré et étincelant! ✨

Incredible news! Michelle Obama will be be reading CAN I BE YOUR DOG? for the PBS Read-Along! May 25th (Memorial Day) at noon EST.
I am thrilled, and honored, and bowled over, and can't wait to hear her read my words! I only wish the _real_ Arfy were still around to hear, too.
