Completely embracing my wild side while on my latest trip to South Africa!
.
I learned so much about cheetahs @tshukudubushcamp! Walking with #Dumar the cheetah was a wonderful experience. This private wildlife reserve is doing tremendous things for animal conservation around the country.
.
so, tell me, would you tap into your wild side with a cheetah walk?

SOME SOULS ARE BORN WILD. OTHERS LEAVE A LEGACY THAT LIVES FOREVER.

This is Duma’s story — a story of loss, resilience, an extraordinary bond, and a legacy that lives on. 🤎
Born in 2022, Duma and his two sisters lost their mother when she was killed by a leopard while trying to protect her three young cubs.

The cubs were taken to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, where they were raised for six months before being returned to Tshukudu Game Reserve.

His sisters quickly adapted to life in the wild. Tragically, one later lost her life to lions while protecting her own cubs, while the other continues to roam free in Tshukudu today.
But Duma’s story took a different path. 🐾

From an early age, he formed an extraordinary bond with people. While his sisters embraced life in the wild, Duma chose to remain close to the camp, the place he came to know as home.
He is free to roam the reserve and hunt as nature intended, yet he chooses to spend much of his time close to the people he trusts.

His gentle nature and affectionate personality have captured the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Even his name tells a story. In Swahili, Duma means cheetah — a name that beautifully reflects who he is and the wild spirit he embodies. 🐆

Duma is a beautiful reminder that the wild holds stories of not only survival, but also connection, resilience, and belonging.
His legacy runs even deeper. His bloodline traces back to Savannah, and before that even 40 years of cheetah generations at Tshukudu Game Reserve, connecting him to a remarkable part of the reserve’s history.

✨ And this is why our villa bears his name.
Villa Duma is more than a place to stay. It is a tribute to this extraordinary boy, his unique story, and the legacy he carries.
A celebration of the African wilderness, the freedom of nature, and the unforgettable connections that make it so special.

Duma — a wild spirit, a gentle soul, and a legacy forever woven into the heart of Villa Duma. 🐆🤎
Welcome to his world.
