We love our students and creating fun memories together! Our graduate students got together this past weekend for some fun pumpkin carving activities.🎃🍂 by @tsu_communication_disorders

The 2026 NSSLHA Conference at Truman State will be on November 13th, 2026, from 8:30-3. Join us to hear from Nikki Hoopes, M.A., CCC-SLP about childhood trauma in therapy sessions. RSVP to the conference with the QR code above, and feel free to reach out to Mya Hall (so36211@truman.edu) if you have any questions. We hope to see you there! by @tsu_communication_disorders

Lots of fun at a community health fair held at ATSU this past weekend! Students got some clock hours while performing tympanometry screenings. Students also got to experience video-otoscopy with our alum, Michelle Woodward, from Hearing Care Partners. by @tsu_communication_disorders

Happy first week of classes!! One week in and our students have been busy welcoming the new fall 2026 cohort, preparing for a new semester of clients, and enjoying each other’s company!! by @tsu_communication_disorders

Our graduate students are “leaping” into the dysphagia course this summer and are encouraged to BYOB(bolus) to class! Huge shoutout to one of our graduate students who drew these encouragement frogs on the CMDS classroom whiteboard!💚🐸 by @tsu_communication_disorders

This weekend Kirksville hosted the Special Olympics! Ms. Pulis and four of our graduate clinicians volunteered with the Special Olympics Healthy Hearing Team on Saturday to provide hearing screenings for many of the athletes. We are proud to see our clinicians using their skills to serve the community while gaining valuable clinical experience! by @tsu_communication_disorders

Last Friday, May 1, we had the pleasure of recognizing many outstanding students and honoring our graduates!! Students were awarded a variety of recognitions and scholarships. Congratulations to all the recipients! We’re so proud of you!! by @tsu_communication_disorders

We had a great time at the Missouri Speech-Language Hearing Association (MSHA) Conference held at St. Charles, MO the past few days! We couldn’t be more proud of our department 💜🐾 by @tsu_communication_disorders

Crash is here to encourage everybody through the last week of clinic!! Don't worry... this will be you in just a few weeks :) by @tsu_communication_disorders

Our department head, Dr. Teten, attended the HOSA convention in Rolla, MO to hopefully recruit some future CMDS majors! She had the opportunity to host a carnival game while she was there. Her carnival game consisted of a timed competition where students had to find pre-determined sentences on either a high-tech device or on core boards as fast as they could. Swipe to see two of our own graduate students give it a go!! by @tsu_communication_disorders
