📍Best Bay Halal Cuisine
72 Steeles Ave W Unit 6, Thornhill

If you’re looking to switch things up from the usual halal Hakka spots, this new restaurant in Thornhill is worth checking out.

We tried everything from handmade dumplings and juicy shumai to hot pots, skewers, mango shrimp, and General Tso’s chicken. My personal favorite? The egg fried rice.

They also have beautiful private dining rooms, making it a great spot for your next family dinner. by @ttceats

CHACHEE’S CHAI CAFE
📍 90 Annagem Blvd, Mississauga

RAMADAN DEALS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• $2 karak chai with the purchase of any dessert
• Faluda for $5
• Special Ramadan menu featuring iced banana bread matcha, Rooh Afza cardamom latte, and iced Rooh Afza cardamom karak chai

Now let’s talk about the space.

This new Mississauga spot blends desi elements with modern art interiors, from the patterned ceiling details to the cozy booth seating. It’s the kind of place you can sit, sip, and actually enjoy your chai instead of rushing out.

And yes, the viral fruitcakes actually taste good. Balanced sweetness, soft cake layers, smooth mousse, and just the right amount of jelly.

If you’re planning your Ramadan cafe rotations, add this one to the list.

Everything I ate in NYC! 🍎🍕

🌶️ Fuchka House NYC – Waited forever for this but honestly didn’t meet the hype 😕. Azad Supermarket or Adda Anytime in Toronto easily beats this.

🍕 Pizza Loves Sauce – The chili oil–infused deep dish was unreal 🔥 Definitely my favourite bite of the trip. For NY-style pizza, I still prefer Badiali or North of Brooklyn.
Also, friends who don’t halal tried Joe’s Pizza and thought it was just okay 🤷‍♀️.

🍦 Venchi Gelato – So unique and creamy! Loved the Parmesan and the vanilla with olive oil — sounds weird but it works 👌

🥙 Adel’s Food Cart – Way too overhyped 🙄 Wouldn’t stand in that line again. Honestly, Toronto has way better shawarma.

🧁 Magnolia Bakery – It was nice… but let’s be real, our ammus in Bangladesh make this banana pudding all the time 😅

☕ Ralph’s Coffee – Very meh and way too pricey 💸 Wouldn’t go again.

🍉 Spicy Fruit Cups – Loved these!! 🌶️🍍 So refreshing in the NYC heat.

🫖 Qawah House – It was okay, but Mississauga’s Qamaria is on another level 🏆

🍪 Levain Cookies – Really good! 🍫 But honestly, Craig’s back home is a solid match.

🍗 Dave’s Hot Chicken – Sorry for the ugly photo 😝 but it tastes WAY better in NYC for some reason 🔥 by @ttceats
