Waterloo 1815 - - The Battle of Waterloo was fought on 18 June 1815 between Napoleon’s French Army and a coalition led by the Duke of Wellington and Marshal Blücher. The decisive battle of its age, it concluded a war that had raged for 23 years, ended French attempts to dominate Europe, and destroyed Napoleon’s imperial power forever. - At 11.30am, following a huge artillery bombardment - partly negated by Wellington’s position and the wet ground - Napoleon launched his diversionary attack against Hougoumont - At about 7.00pm, in a last bid for victory, Napoleon released his finest troops, the Imperial Guard. They marched up the ridge between Hougoumont and La Haye Sainte, but had chosen to attack where Wellington was strongest. Under a withering fire from British guardsmen and light infantry, the Imperial Guard halted, wavered and finally broke. - - - #history #lego #fench #napoleonic #legonapoleonicwar - Finally happy that I was able to depict a Waterloo build after wanting to do one for a good while I definitely want to do hougoumont one day, more posts coming soon hopefully 🤞 by @typical.bricks
- Normandy 1944 - - part of @bruv.lug Normandy collab - - - Operation Overlord was the codename for the Battle of Normandy, the Allied operation that launched the successful liberation of German-occupied Western Europe during World War II. The operation was launched on 6 June 1944 (D-Day) with the Normandy landings (Operation Neptune). A 1,200-plane airborne assault preceded an amphibious assault involving more than 5,000 vessels. Nearly 160,000 troops crossed the English Channel on 6 June, and more than two million Allied troops were in France by the end of August. - - - - Big up @brick_by_design with the m18 Hellcat a amazing design #legomilitary #ww2 #history #legoww2 #lego by @typical.bricks
- Low Countries - - - - The battle of France lasted 6 weeks or specifically 46 days which caused France to become a victim of Hitlers war machine. In just six weeks, Axis forces executed a stunningly rapid campaign that defeated the Allied armies, triggered the evacuation of British forces from Dunkirk, and forced the capitulation of the French government - - The Allies expected Germany to repeat their World War I strategy (the Schlieffen Plan) by launching their main assault through central Belgium. To counter this, France had constructed the Maginot Line, an immovable chain of state-of-the-art fortifications along its border with Germany. - - - - #lego #legoww2 #france #history #ww2 by @typical.bricks
Island hopping 1942 - 1945 - - Leapfrogging, also known as island hopping, was a military strategy used by the Allied forces in the Pacific to bypass heavily fortified Japanese positions, cut off their supplies, and capture strategically vital locations closer to the Japanese mainland - #legohistory #history #legoww2 #japan #pacific by @typical.bricks
The Toxic Depths - - The air in the concrete bunker smelled of ozone and damp earth. Sergeant Miller kept his weapon ready in the darkness, his back pressed against a stack of contraband crates. They had finally tracked the source of the nerve agent to this hidden underground laboratory, but the silence inside was louder than gunfire. Sergeant smith stepped forward, his heavy tactical boots clicking softly on the polished floor. Covered head-to-toe in a hazmat suit and respirator, his vision was limited by the fogging visor. He approached the makeshift workbench. Next to a secure black equipment case sat a single glass flask, filled with a swirling, luminescent green liquid. It glowed with an eerie, chemical light, casting a sickly hue over the white brick wall. Before smith could touch the create the heavy steel security doors behind him slammed shut with a deafening hydraulic hiss. The lights cut out, leaving only the toxic green glow to illuminate the trap he had just walked into. Part 1/2 - - Something different to what I normally post but id like to explore this theme 👀 #modern #lego #storytelling #legomilitary by @typical.bricks

55 days at Peking - - - The Boxer Rebellion (1899–1901) in Peking involved a 55-day siege (June 20–August 14, 1900) of foreign diplomats, citizens, and Chinese Christians in the Legation Quarter by Chinese Boxer rebels and Imperial troops. The crisis was ended by the arrival of an Eight-Nation Alliance expeditionary force, which captured Beijing and occupied the city - On August 14, 1900, an Eight-Nation Alliance of 20,000 troops—from Japan, Russia, Britain, France, the US, Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary—captured Peking and lifted the siege - The Allied troops looted Beijing, and the Chinese government was forced to sign the humiliating Boxer Protocol in 1901, paying massive reparations and allowing foreign troops to be stationed in the capital - - I’m really happy with how the build turned out a part of the world I’ve never attempted to build before but definitely an area I hope to revisit someday by @typical.bricks
Battle of canyon creek 13th September 1877 - - - The Battle of Canyon Creek was a military engagement in Montana Territory between the Nez Perce Indians and the United States Army’s 7th Cavalry. The battle was part of the larger Indian Wars of the latter 19th century and the immediate Nez Perce War. It took place on September 13, 1877, west of present-day Billings in Yellowstone County, in the canyons and benches around Canyon Creek. - Without much difficulty the Nez Perce held off and escaped from a cavalry force outnumbering them at least two to one. However, the loss of about 400 horses to the Crow scouts was a blow as it placed an additional burden on their remaining and increasingly worn-out horses and slowed their flight toward Canada. They had also expended much of their scarce ammunition. The betrayal of them by the Crow was a psychological blow and after three months of a fighting retreat they were physically exhausted - - #lego o #america #historical #1877 by @typical.bricks

Marengo 1800 - - - The battle of Marengo was fought on the 14th of June 1800 between the French forces under the first consul Napoleon Bonaparte and Austrian forces near the city of Alresandria Italy. Near the end of the day the French overcame General Michael von Melas surprise attack drove the Austrians out of Italy and consolidated Napoleons political position in Paris as first consul of France in the wake of his coup ďétat the previous November - - Took about 2 months to build and I’m really happy with how it came out, im very happy with how the drummer came out simple design but works very well - Big thanks to @clarification_please for helping with the tree design - - Pictures were all taken at @nationalbrickevents in Cardiff by @typical.bricks
- Normandy day 5' 1944 - - - Operation Neptune more known as the D-Day landings of June 6 1944, brought together the land, air, and sea forces of the allied armies in what became known as the largest amphibious invasion in military history. The operation, given the codename OVERLORD, delivered five naval assault divisions to the beaches of Normandy in France. The invasion began shortly after midnight on the morning of 6 June with extensive aerial and naval bombardment as well as an airborne assault—the landing of 24,000 American, British, and Canadian airborne troops - - This build depicts a Jagdpanzer IV from @brick_by_design going past two waffen ss soldiers wom have killed a 101st airborne who got lost on the original landing on June 6th - - This will most likely be my final Normandy build, as I feel it's getting over done. Hopefully new theaters, battles and conflicts in the future, took around 3 1/2 months to build, on and off but happy with how it turned out. by @typical.bricks
Outskirts of Leningrad - - - - The siege of Leningrad was a prolonged military siege undertaken by the Axis powers against the city of Leningrad (modern day Saint Petersburg) on the Eastern Front of World War 2. Germany's Army Group North advanced from the south, while the German-allied Finnish army invaded from the north and completed the ring around the city. The 872 days of the siege caused extreme famine in the Leningrad region through disruption of utilities, water, energy and food supplies. This resulted in the deaths of up to 1,500,000 soldiers and civilians and the evacuation of 1,400,000 more (mainly women and children), many of whom died during evacuation due to starvation and bombardment - - - Finally posting this build after being complete months ago, giving a shout-out to @erichbricks for the trench design (ik other builders have used it but I saw on his story how it was done) - - #history #russia #ww2 #ww2history by @typical.bricks
