Radiology school can feel lonely at first… until you find your people. The ones who study with you, stress with you, laugh with you, and somehow make it all a little easier.

Our awesome NW students understood the assignment. Turns out, you’re not just finding a career, you’re finding your people along the way.

6 weeks went by really FAST and now it’s time for the next adventure… CLINICALS!!!

Our students have worked so hard, learned so much, and have been absolutely crushing their first six weeks of the program. Today, they officially trade the classroom for the clinical setting for the very first time. 🥹

We are so proud of how far they’ve already come and can’t wait to watch them grow over the next two years. Good luck on your first day of clinical!! You’ve got this!! ❤️

So proud of these amazing senior students! They volunteered their time at our MSK & Imaging Night this month at our 12th Street Health & Wellness Center, sharing their skills and serving our community. They represent RIS so well and make us so proud!! #UAMSRIS #uamschp by @uamsris

💥August Student of the Month💥

Help us congratulate Gage Garnett, a junior student on our Northwest campus!

If you know Gage, you know he’s usually smiling, encouraging someone with a “good job,” or stepping up to help wherever he can. His classmates appreciate how supportive he is, and faculty have noticed it too. He brings a positive attitude, includes others, and genuinely helps make our program a better place to be. We’re so happy to recognize him as our August Student of the Month!

He’s from Bentonville and completed his prerequisites at NWACC. He serves as our ASG representative for the Northwest campus and hopes to work in CT after graduation. When he’s not busy with school, he enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. And fittingly, he says he loves to laugh and make other people laugh! 😄

Help us show Gage some love and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition! by @uamsris

Kinda chic that they graduated and are already out there doing what they’ve worked so hard for.

Hard to believe these photos were taken a month ago! We’re so proud of our graduates and all they’re accomplishing already.

BUT we have to admit… we miss seeing them! 🥹🤍☠️ by @uamsris

First week milestone unlocked! 🩻✨ Our newest RIS students officially have their radiographic markers in hand and they’re ready to put them to work!

We are BACK for another ✨MEET THE FACULTY ✨ We’re thrilled to have Ms. Julie Harmon, BS,R.T. (R)(CT)ARRT as RIS faculty!

Ms. Harmon is a proud graduate of our program and is coming full circle by returning to teach in the very program where her career began. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in diagnostic radiography, computed tomography, and clinical communications. When she’s not teaching patient care, CT, or coordinating our Inter-professional Education activities, you’ll likely find her spending her time with her daughter and puppy Rubie, reading a great book, baking sourdough, or practicing yoga.

Ms. Harmon is passionate about helping students build confidence, connect classroom learning to clinical practice, and never lose sight of the importance of compassionate patient care.

❤️🎉👏 Please join us in giving her a warm RIS welcome! 🎉👏❤️ by @uamsris

It all starts with a simple “hello”! Last Friday, we had the opportunity to officially welcome our newest RIS students during our first ever New Student Information Session. While classes haven’t started just yet, it was exciting to connect, answer questions, and help everyone take the first steps towards an incredible journey. Over the next two years, these faces will become classmates, teammates, and lifelong friends.
