H.E REGINE HESS, Ambassador of Germany to Tanzania gave us a lecture about Holocaust Day.

The day remembers the killing of 6 million Jews and 11 million others by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. It was designated by United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 on 1 November 2005. The resolution came after a special session was held earlier that year on 24 January to mark the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps and the end of the Holocaust.

TODAY’S POSTER for sharing on our platforms!

SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) does not appear in the bottom row with the other SDGs because it is the focus of today’s poster as shown and plays a key role in driving the other goals. by @udsm_un_chapter

🌍 WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY | 19 AUGUST

Today, we honour the brave humanitarian workers who put their lives at risk to protect, support, and serve others in times of crisis. 🤍

This World Humanitarian Day, we stand together to Protect Those Who Help — because those who dedicate themselves to helping humanity deserve our protection, respect, and support.

Let us recognise their courage, amplify their voices, and reaffirm our commitment to a world where humanitarian workers can serve safely and with dignity.

Protect those who help. Protect humanity. 🌍🕊️

Let's Start with Youth, then Others.. 🔥🔥YUNA ~MoCU CHAPTER we are Strive to Change✊🏼🇹🇿 by @udsm_un_chapter

Honored to have attended the youth gathering at UN House Tanzania today! We came together to watch the UN Secretary-General’s Special Address at London Climate Week organized by @unitednations_tz , the conversation certainly didn’t stop there.
From discussing methane emissions and renewables to analyzing AI’s carbon footprint, we reflected deeply on what these global commitments mean for Tanzania’s own climate realities.
Climate action isn’t just an environmental issueit is a development issue, an economic issue, and a justice issue. As young Tanzanians, we are proud to bring our voices, ideas, and leadership to the table to ensure technology and urgent action move us toward a sustainable future. 🇹🇿🌱

As I officially conclude my term as Chairperson of the UN Chapter at the University of Dar es Salaam, I do so with a heart full of gratitude, pride, and hope.

What began as a leadership position became a transformative journey of my university life. A journey of service, growth, challenges, learning, and impact. Sharing opportunities, inspiring others, and leaving every place better than before.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the support of our members, executive team, patron, partners, volunteers, and every individual who believed in our vision. Thank you for trusting me, challenging me, and walking this journey with me.

Leadership may be ending, but the mission continues. I leave knowing that the chapter is filled with passionate individuals who will continue pushing boundaries, creating impact, and building a stronger legacy for future generations.

To the incoming leadership, lead with courage, integrity, and purpose. Dream bigger, achieve more, and never forget that true leadership is measured by the lives you touch.

As I turn this page, I carry forward the lessons, friendships, memories, and experiences that this chapter has given me. The position may end, but the commitment to service remains.

Thank you for allowing me to serve.

The chapter’s future is bright. The legacy continues. 💙🌍
