Thoroughly enjoyed @theoxtailoff in Atlanta! I didn’t want to talk over this because it would’ve been A LOT TO SAY, yet the VIBES are self-explanatory! I ate and sampled so much OXTAIL, MY GOD 🙌🏽 Funny thing is, in my previous reel… me & @anthonydavidatl picked the winning chef before the judges came out and I kept looking for more samples of her oxtail 🤣 CONGRATULATIONS @cheftiffanymoore 🏆 I ended up ordering oxtail to go from @iriemoncafe’s food truck and I bought some of @cheftiffanymoore’s seasonings online before I left the event. All in all this was a 10/10 experience and I’m so thankful for the invite @krys.franklin!!! “Keep on pushing… like your leaders tell you to!”This song was playing when I landed in Jackson, Mississippi and it felt so good to be home. When the work I do brings me home I get so excited to share the love I have for this entire state. Visiting Black-led schools that offer various “school choice” options and taking my Mom to @thepineywoodsschool on her first tour was extremely memorable. One of the best things I heard while here with a group of educators, advocates and policy leaders was that this visit changed their entire perception of MISSISSIPPI. Most of these people had never been to Mississippi yet were open to see what’s amazing & available here. Extremely grateful for this entire experience and most importantly having @themississippilink Publisher Jackie Hampton join us was the cherry on top @blackpressusa. Thanks for this @emoryfedwards @edchoice 🙏🏽 Dear City of Jackson, I love you!!!!! This Mother’s Day feels different. I’m coming out of a depressive state (I hope) and it just seems like everything I’ve known and worked for is foreign. I’m shedding and purging a lot out of my life & eventually I’ll see it as an opportunity to rebuild again. This world is so exhausting, the economy ain’t shit and I just want to twerk, lay up under a fine ass man or woman and know that all my bills are paid ON TIME. If you’re seeing this then you’re blessed to witness a MOTHER who never forgot who she was and even if she did doubt herself she found her way back. To my children, yall know you got a fine ass momma who’s gonna figure it out one way or another while navigating this thing called life.
