To my beautiful friend @owainrdavies I’ve been putting this off because I knew writing these words would make it feel more real and I don’t want it to be real. I can’t believe you are gone. I can’t believe we were due to see each other and I missed you by moments. I can’t believe I will never receive one of your bear hugs again or hear you laugh, or sing, or dance with you. We first met in LA (there in this photo) fresh faced and full of adventures. I will be forever grateful to @ruthie_connell for introducing us all those years ago. Where ever we were it felt like home because you made it feel like home. You are loved by so many people, so many of us who were lucky enough to call you our friend, our chosen family. The kindest, funniest, most talented, wonderful soul, God we will miss you. I am so grateful for all our adventures, our heart to hearts, our quiet times together, the giggles, the dance lifts, and that my daughter got to experience an Uncle Owain hug. They say, you always remember how someone made you feel and you brought nothing but joy. For over 20 years, I’ve been proud to support Plan International UK. But right now we’re witnessing a growing delusion that girls’ have enough rights, with a disturbing rise in violence against women and girls and an assault on reproductive rights. Hard-won freedoms are being rolled back, and girls’ futures are at risk. So, ahead of #dayofthegirl tomorrow I’ve created this poster with @plan_uk to set the stage for girls.
