Super Special Color-Changing OC - DO NOT STEAL!!!Guess who finished the audiobook for the third time again today? 🫠 I’m not usually one to make OCs like this 😅 but I had an idea for a future drawing and I wanted to flesh out what this character is all about. Meet Jellyfish! One of Grace’s first students, they were immediately enthralled by Earth life and quickly became Erid’s number 1 expert on the subject. (Aside from Grace and maybe Rocky) Grace is somewhat perplexed by which things Jellyfish seems to like the most. They tend to get excited by very niche, unexpected parts of earth culture. Grace gave them their name for the pale, almost translucent mineral covering their carapace, only later noticing that their color seemed to change under the artificial UV light in his Earth-biome-dome. Naturally, being Grace, he did experiments with other UV light frequencies to figure out why. Turns out Jelly’s carapace is covered primarily in Hackmanite! - A rare variation of Sodalite, Hackmanite changes color under different wavelengths of UV light. Under UV-A it fluoresces a bright orange/pink color, and under UV-B bright blue, purple, and pink.When exposed to direct sunlight it goes through a phenomenon called “Tenebrescence”- Changing to a deep violet color. Depending on the origin of the stone, the color can fade in bright visible light or linger for weeks. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about PHM in weeks. I had never heard of it until my sister suggested we see the movie. Watched the movie, thought it was ok. Decided to listen to the audiobook at work. That’s when the brainworms started. Went to see the movie a second time. I’m obsessed. Read the audiobook AGAIN. Help. “What if all the abstracted characters had unique designs instead of the same one” part 4: Kinger.Probably the most peaceful abstraction, it mostly wanders aimlessly, not really chasing anyone down with the intent to harm. Very random idea I had in the middle of the night last week and couldn’t get it out of my head until I wrote it down. 😅 I imagined it as a “adult” animated sitcom but upon further consideration it would probably work as a comic or a series of shorts maybe. 🤔 Either way I’m too unambitious to make it a real thing so have some fun concept sketches. :3The text: Two young lesbians with zero farming experience move out to the country together and try to start a successful hobby farmCast includes: * Type A femme lesbian with adhd who is stressed out that farm life is nothing like Homesteading Pinterest suggested it would be.* Chill futch lesbian who went along with this idea for her wife but finds herself in her element and genuinely enjoys the chaotic rural life.(Adopted kids)* Moody nonbinary tween who’s mad they had to leave their city life behind, but secretly loves all the animals.* Feral 5 year old girl who instantly acclimates and always has small animals in her pockets.Side characters:* Their only close neighbor, retired farmer who’s too old to work the job anymore and knows the ropes but is extremely unhelpful because he’s a passive agent of chaos.* Their next closest neighbor who has a picture perfect homestead and is constantly showing up with like fresh sourdough bread and homemade jams to share, femme lesbian HATES her with a burning passion.* Himbo farmhand who takes care of old neighbor’s remaining assets (cows, field-crops?)Animals (get their own B plots sometimes but do NOT talk):* Extremely evil Alpha hen* Chaotic donkey* Handful of really stupid goats/sheep?* A Couple of uppity dairy cows* Very lazy barn cat* Dumb but Very Good Girl livestock guardian dog* Little Girl’s pet rat (it’s just a very nasty feral rat she found).#characterdesign #conceptart #homestead #animation #lgbt by @starberry.kat

Okayyy take 3 🤦‍♀️ I was really unsatisfied with how my last luci redesign came out and it’s been nagging me ever since so when I redesigned the sins I decided to fix his design too. I feel like I have a much better grasp on the hellaverse style and my own version of it after all this practice and it looks wayyy better to me.
