šŸ”ˆ NEW SINGLE ā€˜COME DANCE THROUGH THE DARKNESSā€™ ON SPOTIFY:
POSTS STORIES REELS
Come Dance Through The Darkness is getting a remix treatment with the help from American rapper LaaDuhGoat, formerly known as Lafayette The Artist. Musically, the track started off as an extension of the previous single, Letā€™s Choose Love, but we wanted to tackle the same core idea from a different perspective, that more closely reflected the darker mood of Come Danceā€¦ Letā€™s Choose Love is mainly about resilience, while Come Dance Through The Darkness is about defiance. Laa delivers thoughtful rap verses with some pop culture references sprinkled throughout. #UMFELD #hiphop #rap #rapper #newmusic by @umfeldmusic
The third single, Come Dance Through The Darkness, is out now! The song actually started out as an instrumental outro piece to a potential extended version of the previous single, Letā€™s Choose Love. It was also considered as a possible B-side to that song, but it was ultimately decided to release Come Dance Through The Darkness in its own right. Like its predecessor, it has a bit of an 80s new wave vibe, with a @thecure-like bass line and a @neworderofficial-style drum sound. The piano melody is definitely channeling some @joejacksonmusic_. Eden Hunter (aka Ruby Ryder) is reprising her vocal, as the title is directly lifted from Letā€™s Choose Loveā€™s opening line. So, basically a follow-up sharing some musical elements, but with an entirely different, much darker mood. The B-side is a previously unreleased ambient remix of debut single We Are The World United, which includes a sound recording of lovebirds in the streets of Seville, Spain. #UMFELD #newsong #remix #dance #newwave by @umfeldmusic
Closing off the Letā€™s Choose Love release cycle with the 6-track EP Autumn Dubs. Some reggae, some pop, some house, some Latin, and even some close harmony. In the last few days, the song has seen a notable uptick in streams, especially in Indonesia and Italy, even though the next single is already coming up. The new song is called Come Dance Through The Darkness, and will be released on October 23. The title is lifted from the opening line of Letā€™s Choose Love, but veers off into a different mood than its predecessor. Some remixes will also feature a new collaboration on vocals. More will be revealed soon. #UMFELD #remix #reggae #latin #dance by @umfeldmusic
While working on the song Letā€™s Choose Love, I knew I wanted to do an a cappella close harmony version. The backing vocals by the members of close harmony group RIZYN were too good not to highlight. All I had to do was (literally) snap my fingers. #UMFELD #vocals #acapella #gospel #remix by @umfeldmusic
I-I-Iā€™m gonna do it! Iā€™m gonna choose loooooove! The Classic House Rework and dub versions of Letā€™s Choose Love have dropped, for those of you who canā€™t get enough of 90s euro dance! #UMFELD #remix #edm #housemusic #ADE by @umfeldmusic
The Synthwave Rework of Letā€™s Choose Love is actually pretty similar to my original demo for the song, which only had vintage synth sounds and a 909 drum pattern. It definitely has early 80s synthpop influences, like The Human League, @officialaha, and @alphaville.music, but also some more mid-to-late 80s music, ranging from Hi-NRG Stock Aitken Waterman records to thoughtful @petshopboys songs. And, somehow, a little bit of @avicii. #UMFELD #80s #synthpop #synthwave #remix by @umfeldmusic
A fun bit of music history: the term ā€˜percapellaā€™, indicating a mix using only vocals and rhythms, first appeared forty years ago, on the 1986 Colonel Abrams single Iā€™m Not Gonna Let You. Forty years on, Iā€™m keeping the tradition alive with the Latin Percapella mix of Letā€™s Choose Love. The rhythm is gonna get you! #UMFELD #remix #latina #latin #dance by @umfeldmusic
I wasnā€™t planning on releasing a reggae version of Letā€™s Choose Love, but then I was messing around with an electric piano preset and this came out spontaneously. I had already layered a 2016 audio recording of my parentsā€™ dogs, Lizzy and Nora, behind the drum track in the original version, but here you can hear their distinct barks more clearly, right before the chorus. What are the odds of them barking in the key of Em, a full decade of me making this tune? #UMFELD #reggae #dogs #dub #remix by @umfeldmusic
Remix time! The original version of Letā€™s Choose Love is a pop song with 80s drums, an EDM-style build-up, a @TheBeachBoys-inspired choir, and a dash of #Eurovision. On the Reworks EP there are six alternate mixes in other genres: house, Latin, reggae, downtempo, synthpop, and an acoustic version. So, you can choose ā¤ļø in your prefered style of music! #UMFELD #remix #music #newmusic by @umfeldmusic
Something to chill out to: the Downtempo Rework of Letā€™s Choose Love. #UMFELD #chill #downtempo #remix #summer by @umfeldmusic
Summer days are getting shorter, but that doesnā€™t have to mean things are cooling downā€¦ So hereā€™s a Latin dance remix of Letā€™s Choose Love. šŸ”„ā¤ļø #UMFELD #latin #merengue #latina #salsa by @umfeldmusic
We stripped down the single Letā€™s Choose Love to its bare essentials: just Eden Hunterā€™s warm vocals and Federicoā€™s gentle acoustic guitar playing. Simple and pure. Letā€™s choose ā¤ļø! #UMFELD #acoustic #newmusic #love #summer by @umfeldmusic
