Your next level may require a version of you that you haven’t built yet.

So don’t just chase the next opportunity. Prepare for it.

Learn,Practice,Improve.
Give your time to things that are shaping the person you want to become.

Because growth isn’t just about where you’re going ,it’s about who you’re becoming along the way.

Who are you becoming?

Somewhere along the line, we created a timetable for success.

‎By 25, you should have bought land.
‎
‎By 30, you should own a house.
‎
‎By 35, you should have multiple streams of income and several investments.
‎
‎And if you haven't achieved these things, you start to feel like you're doing life wrong.
‎
‎But who created this timetable, and who decided it should apply to everybody?
‎
‎The problem is that you're comparing your life to people whose circumstances you don't fully understand.
‎
‎Someone bought land at 24. Did they have to support their parents and siblings?
‎
‎Someone built a house at 29. Did they start earning earlier, receive an inheritance, have business support, or take on debt?
‎
‎Someone else bought three properties before 35. What risks did they take, and what resources did they start with?
‎
‎You see the achievement. You don't always see the conditions that made it possible.

‎Two people can earn the same salary and have completely different financial realities.
‎
‎One person earns ₦500,000 monthly and can save a significant portion.
‎
‎Another earns the same amount but supports parents, pays school fees for younger siblings, covers medical expenses, and handles household responsibilities.
‎
‎On paper, their incomes are equal. In reality, their financial capacity is not.
‎
‎Your income matters. But so do your obligations, expenses, opportunities, and starting point.
‎
‎Buying property early doesn't automatically mean you're financially ahead.
‎
‎Imagine buying land with every naira you have, only to face an emergency weeks later.
‎
‎Or buying a property you cannot afford to develop, maintain, or conveniently access.
‎
‎You may own an asset and still be financially vulnerable.
‎
‎Property ownership is valuable, but the quality of the decision matters more than the age at which you make it.
‎
‎But let's not use this as an excuse to postpone our future indefinitely.
‎
‎Yes, everybody has a different timeline.
‎
‎But having a different timeline doesn't mean you should have no plan.

Imagine earning ₦300,000 a month. You work hard, pay your bills, take care of your responsibilities, and somehow manage to set aside enough money to pay ₦1.2 million in annual rent.

You renew your rent, settle back into your life, and get on with work. Then, before you know it, another year has passed. It's time to renew again. Perhaps the landlord has increased the rent, and now you have to adjust your finances all over again.

Five years down the line, you could have spent ₦6 million on rent alone, assuming the rent never increased. And after all those payments, you still need somewhere to live.

Now, before you conclude that renting is a waste of money, let's be clear: **there is absolutely nothing wrong with renting.** Sometimes, renting is the most sensible financial decision you can make. It gives you flexibility, keeps you from tying up all your savings in property, and may allow you to live in a location you cannot yet afford to buy in.

But here's the question worth thinking about: *Are you renting as part of a financial plan, or have you become so accustomed to meeting your housing needs every year that you've stopped planning for what comes next?*

Because the real conversation isn't just about paying rent versus owning a house. It's about financial direction.

Are you building your savings? Are you investing in assets that can grow your wealth? Are you increasing your earning capacity? Are you gradually positioning yourself to have more options over where and how you live in the future?

You don't have to buy land at 25, build a house at 30, or become a landlord by 35 just because society says you should. And you certainly shouldn't empty your savings or take on unmanageable debt just to prove that you're making progress.

Homeownership comes with its own responsibilities: maintenance, legal fees, property charges, and the risk of committing your money to an asset that may not be easy to sell when you need cash. Buying without proper planning can create financial pressure rather than financial freedom.

The goal isn't to stop paying rent at all costs. It's to ensure that your housing decisions align with the future you're trying to build. by @the10xafrica

Real estate conversations often make it seem like you need to have it all figured out before you can get started. But building a strong property portfolio is more about making informed decisions consistently than making one big purchase.

Here are 5 things we should normalize:

1. Normalize starting small.
You don't need a mansion, multiple properties, or millions in the bank before you can become a property owner. Start with what your finances can comfortably handle. One smart purchase can be the beginning of something bigger.

2. Normalize renting when it makes financial sense.
Renting isn't failure, and owning a property isn't automatically the better financial decision. Sometimes renting gives you the flexibility to save, invest, grow your income, or wait for the right opportunity.

3. Normalize buying for the numbers, not just the aesthetics.
A beautiful property can still be a poor investment. Look beyond the finishing and location hype. Consider demand, rental potential, costs, appreciation prospects and your overall return.

4. Normalize asking questions before buying.
Never be afraid to ask questions because you're excited about a property. Verify the documents, understand the title, investigate the location, ask about additional costs and understand what you're actually buying.

5. Normalize thinking long-term.
Not every property will double in value overnight or start generating income immediately. Some investments are about positioning yourself today for opportunities that may come years from now.

Real estate isn't just about what you can afford today.
It's about what you're building for tomorrow.

Which of these do you think we need to normalize the most? 🏡 by @the10xafrica

Doubt has a funny way of making us question things that don't actually need questioning.

“Is this good enough?”
“What will people think?”
“Maybe I should change it.”
“Maybe I'm not ready.”

And sometimes, those questions are wise. But other times, doubt is simply fear wearing the clothes of logic.

These pictures reminded me of something:

You don't have to feel 100% confident before you move.

Sometimes, you put on the outfit while still unsure.
You make the decision while still nervous.
You take the opportunity while still wondering if you're ready.

And then you discover that the thing you almost talked yourself out of… was actually the thing that worked.

Doubt isn't always a sign to stop.
Sometimes, it's simply a sign that you're stepping outside what feels familiar.

So, the next time you hear “Maybe I shouldn't…”, pause and ask:

“Is this wisdom speaking—or is this fear?”

Because you might be one brave decision away from discovering that you were more ready than you thought.

Don't let doubt make decisions that courage should be making.

Now be honest: what's something you've been doubting yourself about lately? 👇🏽 by @the10xafrica

“There’s no more land in Lagos.”

I hear this all the time.

But here’s the thing: real estate isn’t just about looking at what is developed today.

It’s about understanding where development is going next.

The roads being built.
The infrastructure coming in.
The communities expanding.
The demand that is beginning to follow.

Some of the best opportunities are found before everyone starts talking about them.

So, do you still think there’s no more land in Lagos? 👀

Swipe through. Then tell me what you think.

And if you’re looking to own land in a location with strong development potential, send me a DM. by @the10xafrica

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, I had the privilege of joining the climate change advocacy team, led by the remarkable Chief Mrs. Adenike Olumide-Emmanuel (Selah), a Forbes Africa Most Influential Woman. Together, we walked miles, cleaning streets, dumps, and gutters, setting a powerful example for our community. Spearheaded by the OPOLO ATI EWA foundation in partnership with the Lagos State government, this initiative showcased the impact of collective action in combating climate change.

This experience strengthened my conviction that every action matters, and our combined efforts can drive significant positive change. Moving forward, it's crucial that we continue to educate, inspire, and take deliberate action to protect our planet. I'm honored to be part of this movement and look forward to continuing the fight against climate change. taken in Idimu Council by @the10xafrica

Your biggest problem might not be what you’re doing.
It might be what you’re becoming. 👀

Because every day, you’re trading your most valuable asset—your time—for something.

Scrolling.
Entertainment.
Work.
Comfort.
Learning.
Building.
Distraction.

And whether you realize it or not, those exchanges are shaping you.

Your habits are casting votes for the person you’ll eventually become.

So here’s the uncomfortable question:

If your daily routine continued for the next 5 years, would you actually like who you become?

Sit with that.

Because eventually, you won’t just spend your time on those things…

You’ll become them.

If you could spend more time on ONE thing right now, what would it be?
