We’re excited to welcome Uni Erkkilä (@unenlahjat), our new Project Coordinator intern at FCINY for fall 2026! 🍁🌆

Uni studies Strategy and Organisational Design at Aalto University, with a minor in Critical Pedagogy and Mediations of Art. Alongside her studies, she has worked as a cultural producer for organisations and events such as Helsinki Design Week and Solstice, an electronic and alternative music and arts festival in northern Finland.

At FCINY, her main focus will be on the day-to-day operations of the residencies, project production, and coordination with the institute's partners. She hopes to learn how established international cultural institutions are operated and led, from strategic planning and fundraising to residency programmes. Uni is also interested in exploring how the art field operates in an environment where public funding plays a significantly smaller role than it does in Finland.

“One thing that has stood out to me during my first month here is the scale and diversity of opportunities within the creative industry. A cliché, ‘the city of endless possibilities,’ as some say. Compared to the relatively small market in Finland, it really does feel that way.”
