Sometimes you just have to fake it to make it. ❣️

This was my first dance after my laparoscopic surgery (endometriosis lol), I can tell you I did NOT feel sexy at all 🫠 I was weeks out of the hospital and had been given the all clear to go back to the studio, but I felt heavy, bloated, weak, out of breath… I had to give myself a shake to get out of my own head, chucked on a song that always made me feel yummy, and just made myself move, even if I didn’t do “a lot”. Yes, I gaslit myself into feeling sexy AF. It worked. 🤫 I felt so much better about myself. I mustered only one full dance before running out of steam, but it was more than what I expected and that made me so happy. 💓
.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, we might not always be feeling our best but showing up for ourselves is the most important thing you could do. 💞
.
I just want to also thank the kindest souls who shared with me their endo stories and experiences while I was recovering post-op, I really appreciate you all. ❤️

Filmed back home at @poledancemovement in March ❤️ by @unicornpower

Have you ever had a video that just stayed in your drafts because you’ve procrastinated too long to post it, so you end up feeling guilty that you’ve missed the window and then it ends up sitting there for years collecting dust in the internet void? Just me? 😂💀
.
Funnily enough, when I first filmed these explorations in Dec 2023, I thought they were not good enough. I parked them away for months, only really looking at them in April 2024 and realised I had some nice ideas, why did I hate them? I actually used one of these transitions for my @exoticgeneration_malta comp piece this year (2 years later!), but in a turn of irony, I had to relearn how to do it because my movement language had changed and I couldn’t remember how I originally did it. 😅😂
.
Anyway, always look at your “digital sketchbook” through kind eyes. 😂❤️ Merry Christmas! 🎄

Happy birthday to us 🎉🥳 We hit the big 00’s! Swipe right to the next slide to see how it all began and us throughout the years… 👉

Who knew that it was that random Monday pole hire that would change my life forever? I always joke with people that I have it on camera the exact moment you walked into my life, and it’s not a lie! 😂🥰 (When I tell people that pole dancing brought me many good things, you are the biggest reason I mean 🤭😘).

My almost birthday twin, every day spent with you is a joy; whether it’s you catching my butt or me spotting yours in crazy flexy tricks (how on earth do you even do it 😂), I’m so grateful to have the dreamiest partner in this beautiful art that brought us together and in life. I cannot wait for more adventures with you! ❤️🐊 @mihnea.rusu by @unicornpower

If I’m trying to film a sequence, I prefer to film in one full take if I can; it’s exhausting, often frustrating, but it instills good habits in the long run. Basically, I’m finding excuses for being a boomer and choosing not to edit my videos. 🤭 by @unicornpower

✨Tricks in 👠
Tuesdays 7.25pm w our razor ankled Qween @unicornpower
.
Want to perform your tricks in heels and not only avoid broken ankles but look slick whilst doing it?
.
Create an impact and level up your heels dancing by adding in some trick elements! You will learn a variety of tricks and transitions that will make you feel like a strong bad b. Each sequence is broken down step by step with alternatives given. This class is different from our pole level classes as we learn tricks that are specific to heels. Don’t worry, we have a variety of options where going upside down is not necessary.

Well, well, look who it is. 😂 I promise I won’t be gone for so long next time!
.
Just playing around with a little sequence I came up with a year ago, of course it was inspired by the wonderful @tatibluuue . ✨ As well as attending classes, it’s really important to take the time to play and practice. ☝️This allows you to cement the things you’ve learnt to build up on your foundations, increase your body awareness, and to tap into your own personal style of movement.
.
I’ve been digging through my archives and found a lot of old training videos, it’s made me reflect on my own heels journey both as a student and an instructor. I’ll be sharing these over the next couple of weeks if anyone is interested to read my wandering thoughts. 🤭💭 by @unicornpower

Had such an amazing play date with @babymadeitrain, we put together this hot choreo and the energy we had was so freaking GOOD. 🔥😭 I love that even though we’re dancing the same moves, we chose to accentuate different accents and we played with different parts of the song (go and watch her video, it is delicious 🥵🔥). So much learning and healthy collaboration in such a short amount of time. 🥰
.
I probably will reshoot this choreo at some point, but I will leave this one and only take I got to challenge myself to not overthink it. 😄
