【A WISH OF A THOUSAND PAPER CRANES 】 An alternative version of the original coloured work of Reita from The Gazette. Study of light and texture. by @unlearnitt
【A LETTER TO REITA I】 I still grapple with understanding which is more devastating: an unexpected loss of someone you cherish or the one you know is coming. The GazettE was a cornerstone of my youth, and each member holds a special place in my heart. Receiving news of Reita’s sudden passing on April 15th felt surreal, and even now, almost three months later, my mind still struggles to fully accept it. While I may not listen to The GazettE as often anymore, they were my backbone; the first band I ever called my favorite during early teens. They introduced me to j-rock and vkei, genres that remain at the top of my list and that had significantly influenced me - the reason I gained a courage to radically express myself for the first time, despite harsh criticism from my family, peers, random people on the streets, or school teachers. I was also majorly inspired by their 2000s photoshoots, which inspired my self-learn journey of visual arts and apps like photoshop. Creating this memorial project has been very special for these reasons and it helped me to partly accept death of someone who quite literally saved me from my own about 10 years ago. I still vividly remember meeting the band members after a show and having an opportunity to talk, and give one of my drawings to Reita and Ruki, which I never thought could be possible before. I also never imagined it would be the last time I saw Reita perform live for unfortunate reasons, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to see him a few times in different places when opportunities came. As it was written on the back of that picture: 【Unfortunately, words can’t express how grateful I am to you and your music. Your songs will be always a part of me.】 Thank you for everything xx. —— A song referred on the images is The GazettE - Without a Trace. All digitally produced in ps. by @unlearnitt

Had lots of fun creating an image and poster for @fuckmyrentsdue THE LOVERS BALL ❣️🌹 Come dance with me on the 17th 💋 Also that’s the first event poster I made, really happy this was the theme for it and how it came out. Wanna do more stuff like this for cool ppl and events, dmm (─‿‿─)♡♫ — I was listening to Prince on repeat while working on it, can you really tell lol There’s also a deep and profound meaning to the image but I’ll leave a room for your own interpretation xx by @unlearnitt
@yvestumor somewhere in Toronto ~ May 2023 Edit by me ♫꒰ ･‿･๑꒱ I did this photo like half a year ago and forgot about it.. then it was accidentally found while showing my other work yesterday oops anyway - Thought I’d share after / detail / before here too. I do enjoy working with bad photos and then use it to my advantage during editing process, and just see how far I can go with it. It’s also more fun this way for me. Not all bad photos have it but I see the potential when it’s there lol This year though I’ll try to work more on prioritizing original photo quality over bad photo potential and see how it goes. Monetizing your skills/hobby is super cool but when it’s through corporate it just stops being as special to you as it used to be (tweaking shit in ps in my case) 🥲 but I think I’m getting out of my art block.. slowly by @unlearnitt
