My friend. My mountain guide.
My mentor. Yesterday, the mountains took away someone truly extraordinary during an expedition on Broad Peak, Pakistan. 💔🏔️

This post is dedicated to Nims — Nimsdai. Some people are born once in a generation. Some perhaps once in a century. Nims was rarer than that.

He was a man who refused to accept limits. He dared to challenge the impossible and, in doing so, changed the face of modern mountaineering forever. His courage, determination, and spirit inspired countless people around the world.
For the second time, K2 has remained beyond my reach. But this loss is far greater than any summit I could have stood upon.

Thank you, Nims, for every lesson, every adventure, and every moment shared among the mountains. Your legacy will continue to live wherever people dare to dream beyond the impossible.

We will meet again someday, in another life, among the mountains.

I love you, my friend. ❤️🏔️
Rest among the peaks. 💔

An entire hillside collapsed into the river in an instant. Today, Bhadra 19, a massive landslide occurred near the Bhattar settlement in Ward No. 1 of Apihimal Rural Municipality.

The landslide has blocked the route used by locals for their daily activities as well as the path to Api Base Camp.

Happy International Mountaineering Day!

Mountains are God!

It is there that you encounter something greater than yourself, and at the same time, experience the deepest self-knowledge.

Mountains were here long before us and will remain here after us. They are the Earth's great heritage. And the opportunity to touch it, to set foot on this land, to climb to the peaks, to feel their power is an immense honor.

Today I congratulate all mountain lovers, all climbers, on Mountaineering Day.

And today, I especially want to remember all those who remained forever in the mountains. Blessed be their memory.

I'm so happy to be part of this community. It's a small world, but for me, it's the most beautiful.

Happy Mountaineering Day!

I want to dedicate this post to Nims—Nimsdai. A man born once in a century, perhaps once every two hundred years, or maybe even less often. That was the kind of man Nims was. @nimsdai 💔

That's what the true power of an avalanche looks like.
•
A heartbreaking tragedy has unfolded in Pakistan's Karakoram Range. Renowned Nepali mountaineer Nims Purja (Nimsdai) and 9 other climbers have reportedly gone missing after a massive avalanche struck Broad Peak.
Rescue teams are continuing their search in extremely challenging conditions, while authorities work to confirm the identities of those affected.
•
Our thoughts and prayers are with Nimsdai, every member of the expedition, the brave rescue teams, and all the families waiting for hope.
Pray for a miracle. 🤍🏔️
