For 44 years, Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in Chelsea has welcomed anyone in need of a hot meal with dignity and open arms. Being part of the team helping them renovate and expand their historic home has been a deeply meaningful milestone for all of us at Urban Projects Collaborative, LLC (UPC). A project like this only succeeds when everyone pulls in the same direction:

The Visionaries: Rev. Dr. Anna S. Pearson, COO Michael Ottley, Director of Operations Christine Stodolski, and the Holy Apostles staff. Managing construction while continuing to feed hundreds of neighbors every day was a monumental feat, and their steady leadership kept us grounded throughout.

City Support: We’re so grateful for the crucial funding and support from NYC Council, Erik Bottcher, New York City Economic Development Corporation, NYSERDA, New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, that made this transformation of a landmark, LEED Silver project possible.

The Design & Build Team: Working alongside Matiz Architecture & Design and Triton Construction Company & Elite Construction Company of NY, LLC made balancing historic preservation, modern kitchen upgrades, sustainability and accessibility smooth and collaborative.

Consultant + Contracting Team:
Structural Engineer - SILLMAN
MEPSPFA - Matthew Bendix
Sustainability- Steven Winter Associates
Code / Expediting / Inspections - SOCOTEC
Elevator - VDA

UPC Project Team:
Pricipal/SPM - Megan Chusid
Project Controls Director - Purnima Samaroo
Project Controls Associate - Margina Reardon-Betancourt

Happy 44th anniversary to HASK. We are so proud to have stood alongside you as your owner’s rep for this chapter!

National Roller Coaster Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate the Brooklyn Cyclone. 🎢

Preserving a 99-year-old piece of living history isn’t just engineering—it’s a labor of love.

Huge shoutout to the incredible maintenance crews, engineers, and operations teams @lunaparknyc who work behind the scenes daily to keep the Cyclone running smooth, safe, and thrilling for every new generation of riders.

Behind the Scenes at one of our community center projects.

This site walk brought us deep into the heart of our renovation project in Chelsea. Shoring is in place, and the team is hard at work reinforcing floor openings for the new elevator shaft. The energy is high, the coordination is tight, and every beam tells a story of transformation.

Proud to be part of a team that brings the vision to life.

It has been a busy week for UPC! Carousel restoration, Maine Mass Timber Conference, and one of our charter schools are nearing completion.

We can’t wait to share more details after the holidays!

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to visit @pleasantriverlumber, where we delved deep into the mesmerizing process of transforming raw logs into pristine lumber. Witnessing the towering stacks of raw logs awaiting their transformation was a humbling reminder of the abundant natural resources that fuel our industry.

Thank you @consigliconstruction for including UPC on the tour.

UPC’s Megan Chusid, joined the @prattgaud Professional class last week - Week 05 - to speak about owners representation, project management, and facilities oversight services for our non-profit, institutional, and commercial clients. Megan shared insights into a part of the AEC ecosystem we need to talk more about!

If you are interested in UPC joining your class, let us know. We love getting back on campus! by @upcnyc
