Sometimes the greatest stories start before you even write the first word. ✨
Last May, I bought this incredible piece of art from Peruvian artist Alfredo Zagaceta. A few months later, I was looking at the hummingbirds in the painting and realized their true name: Swiftwings.
That single word unlocked a floodgate of dreams, lore, and characters I’d been carrying around for years. Suddenly, my debut fantasy novel, “Upon Swiftest Wings”, was born.
I’m stepping out from behind the pages to document the messy, magical, and very human process of writing my first book. If you love fantasy worlds, complex lore, or just seeing where raw inspiration can lead, I’d love to have you on this journey.
Check out the link in my bio to read the full origin story and see Alfredo’s art in all its glory.

The skies do not belong to who you believe it does. They told us power is brute and heavy. They told us it was scaled, and breathed fire. BUT the archives of The College Of Spirits tells a different story - one stained in glass and preserved in starlight. THEREFORE, while the rest of the world looks for monsters in the clouds, we look for the iridescent blur that moves faster than the eye can see. Here “The Dream unites, the spirit sings, our souls take flight Upon Swiftest Wings”. The age of the Swiftwing is upon us, join me and come along for the adventure! This is the first pane of the window. In the coming weeks and months, we break the glass and meet the riders. Follow to be the first to learn what a “Swiftwing” truly is. #WIP #Conceptart #Novel #Fantasy #FantasyArt by @upon_swiftest_wings
