'CEASEFIRE' OUT NOW. Streaming everywhere, link in bio. We wanted to ensure that every song we've written was recorded and released so they they wouldn't be lost to history. We went in to record drums for CEASEFIRE literally the day after our UNDER THREAT album release show in April, and couldn't be happier with how they turned out. These are the heaviest, most well-produced, and best UPRISING songs to date. Here are the lyrics to the 3 tracks so you can scream them with us tonight 🤘 Credits: @bala.rise - vocals, lyrics, composition (1, 2) / rhythm guitar (1) / bass (3) / artwork. @db.rat - bass (1, 2) / backing vocals, composition (2) / lead vocals, lyrics (3). @eve_should_leave - lead guitar / composition (1, 3) / guitar, bass, and vocals recording. @elimignogna - drums. Mixing, mastering, and drums recording by @notosomo of @wizardrymedia Photos (of us) - @mean_joe_photos Photo attribution for cover art - Jusmine, Mboesch (altered) by @uprising.hc

With 2025 coming to a close, here's a lookback of everything we did over the year. We made our final year as a band COUNT, playing 12 shows and releasing studio recordings of all 10 songs we've written together! As for the future, we're always open to playing another reunion show for a good cause. But more importantly, WRUNG (@wrung.pa), a new, heavier band featuring the Uprisers DB, Eve, and Jason is debuting THIS SUNDAY at The New Low!! OUR REUNION SHOW IS TOMORROW!! Today's lyric video is the 3rd, final, and everyone's favorite track from Ceasefire, PICTURE OF TRUTH This song was composed entirely by Eve and is in drop G tuning. D.B. wrote the lyrics, here's their commentary on it: "As a person raised in a church from birth I’ve had many people in my life meet my questions with anger. Once I grew up and formed my identity I saw so many of the people around me supporting ideologies that condemn my existence. Interpreting your religious doctrine in a selfish, immoral way is one thing. But what’s worse is they seemed to listen to political talking heads more than their gods. I feel a great sadness knowing that these people were once kids with dreams that now live the meaningless, ignorant, and hateful existences designed for them. The last line is a quote engraved into the walls of a cell in Auschwitz that has stuck with me. The things organized religion has taken from me, my family, and billions of others throughout human history, sickens me. Beyond that, the atrocities god has allowed are unfathomable. If god is real, he is an evil monster. Organized religion is a scam." OUR REUNION SHOW IS ONE WEEK AWAY! Today's lyrics video is for What It Takes, a song how much I hate AI. When I (Bala) first wrote it last year, it seemed like AI wasn't talked about much as a political topic, and I'm glad that's changed and so many others are haters nowadays. The bassline was written by D.B. and I wrote a structure for a song around it. It was refined through a collaborative effort and got its drum break and breakdown that way. Initially, both of the verses were about AI's negative impacts on workers' rights issues like companies using it to replace artists, actors, writers. The sample at the beginning is Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei accidentally letting it slip that the goal is to have AI infect and dominate all labor industries. I changed the 2nd verse when I learned of even more nefarious uses of AI: for war and law enforcement. +927 Magazine did a stunning investigative journalism piece about how in Gaza, the IOF uses an AI model called Lavendar to pick targets. Anyone who's googled anything in the past year knows AI constantly gets things wrong, and the only human check on Lavender before letting it kill was seeing if the selected targer was an adult male. In its code was also allowing up to 100 civilians to be killed for a single high value target. This is what the proliferation of AI models is doing. This is why that cute little AI generated image of you with Ghostface or as a lego figure is not harmless. AI companies need to be boycotted and put out of business at a minimum. TWO YEARS AGO on this very date, Uprising played our very first show! The energy in that room was unbelievable and solidified to us that this was something worth continuing and growing. In the time since we've played 47 more shows, and our 49th is coming up in just over a week. Don't miss our reunion show, one night only at BUTTHOLE FEST! Artwork by the very talented @paintboxe and photo by the man @dogznmusic (Not so fun fact: I was coming down with covid the day of our first show but didn't realize it because I thought the general overall feeling of shittiness was from me being so extremely nervous about performing. Thankfully I didn't infect anyone there) by @uprising.hc
In the buildup to our Reunion show in just TWO WEEKS, we'll be releasing lyrics videos & explanations for the 3 tracks off CEASEFIRE like we did for Under Threat back in May. Link in our bio & story highlights. First up: Sick Fuck This was a song that was directly inspired by the same we use at the start, in which Climate Defiance confronted Senator Joe Manchin over his voting record and called him a sick fuck in 2024. As one of the protesters points out, Manchin was the biggest recipient of campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry. It's because of that, and him being the tiebreaking vote in the senate under Biden that he killed so many bills that would have made progress in combating climate change. But of course, the song applies just as much to any politician who sold out the livability of our planet to get richer from oil companies by continuing to let fossil fuels destroy our environment. The verse of the song expresses my frustration to the continued denial of climate change even as we're living through it. Growing up, the evidence of climate change was all in the data. These past few years we've been experiencing the evidence firsthand with every summer reaching a new record level of heat and enormously deadly natural disasters like wildfires and hurricanes that previously happened once every hundred years being a yearly occurance. The truth of why so many politicians are dismissive if climate change is illustrated in the bridge: it doesn't affect them like it does the poor and working class. The floods won't reach them in their high rises, penthouses, and ivory towers. They won't be the ones without electricity to air condition or heat their homes when the power grids fail due to so many people needing it to deal with the extreme temperatures. They'll have no problem buying another house when their mansion is destroyed by a hurricane or tusnami or wildfire. Their riches gained from perpetuating climate change are what sheild them from its deadly impacts. The breakdown was written by Eve and is in 6/4, making it our only song not in standard 4/4.
