Hello!👋
This is me… my name is Vik, nice to me you!
I’ve realised my whole life is largely driven by stereotypical ADHD — which might explain why I’ve gone from hating gardening as a teenager because it was a chore to trying to cram an entire woodland ecosystem into my small back garden….

I’m originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia…

I get slightly ( it’s a lie, not slightly 😝) offended when my partner or guests walk through the garden and don’t immediately notice the new plant / moved plant / completely unnecessary project I’ve been obsessing over.

I’m slowly building a garden that’s part wildlife haven, part woodland, part edible garden — and largely powered by “sod it, let’s try it… what’s the worst that can happen?”

I want a little edible veg strip, lots of wildlife, and absolutely no fear of getting things wrong.

These days I get disproportionately excited about finding a caterpillar in the garden. Honestly, show me a new butterfly larva and I’ll be happier than if you bought me flowers. Some call it midlife crises 🤣

And dirt? Never an issue. Between gardening and rugby, my hands and nails regularly look like I’ve been digging that tunnel in The Shawshank Redemption single-handedly. 😂
So, hello. This is me — and this is my garden. 🌿🐛
What kind of gardener are you? by @urban_cornergarden

🍂 **One person’s rubbish is another creature’s habitat.** 🪵🐞

A pile of old logs might not look like much to us, but to wildlife it can be a little haven — somewhere to shelter, find food and spend the colder months.

As autumn turns to winter, many of our garden visitors need quiet, undisturbed places to rest, hibernate or become dormant. Log piles, leaf litter, hollow stems and tucked-away corners can all provide valuable shelter for insects, amphibians and other small creatures.

So before clearing everything away this autumn, perhaps leave a little mess for nature. Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do in our gardens is simply to leave things be. 🌿

**Do you have a log pile or a little wild corner in your garden?** I’d love to hear what you’ve created for wildlife — and what creatures have made themselves at home! 🦔

🌿 A little wildlife welcome by the front door 🐸

A few of my favourite things tucked into this small patio space - ferns, primulas, pulmonaria beneath the living hedge, logs bringing a woodland feel, and a potted hydrangea.
There’s even a little pond in a planter, complete with its own resident frog! And the sarcococca adds another lovely touch of greenery and a gorgeous scent during winter months 🌸
It’s not a big are, but I love creating little pockets where nature can find a home. What would you add to a space like this?

🍄 **A little woodland magic, right in my own garden.** 🌿

Look what appeared beneath my birch tree! This beautiful, earthy giant has certainly caught my eye. Nature never ceases to surprise me, especially when you slow down and look a little closer. 🤎

Now I’m curious… does anyone know what kind of mushroom this might be? Have you discovered any unexpected fungi in your garden this autumn? 🍂

🌹 A little rose appreciation… because honestly, can you ever have too many? 😍
Some are perfectly imperfect, some smell incredible, and some make you stop whatever you’re doing just to admire them
Tell me, rose lovers… 🌹 What’s your absolute favourite rose, and is there one you’d recommend I add to my garden?
I’m always open to a little rose temptation! 😂💚

💔🌳 Garden heartbreak this morning…
My ornamental weeping pear, planted 3 years ago, has snapped clean off at the base. 😭
No idea when or how it happened!
The roots are still showing signs of life, with new shoots emerging near the soil… so maybe this isn’t quite the end of its story. 🌱
Gardening isn’t always flowers and pretty pictures. Sometimes nature throws you a curveball. 💚
Let’s see if there’s a little hope left for this one. 🤞#wildwiltshiregarden #heartbreak #gardenlife #gardeningjourney #sadmorning by @urban_cornergarden
