Rams ride FREE 🐏 🚌

We are excited to announce that starting today, October 1, @universityofri students can ride RIPTA for FREE with their student ID.

How does it work?
Board at the bus shelter outside of the Student Memorial Union. When boarding, simply swipe your student ID on the farebox (directly to the right of the driver). That's it!

Where can I ride RIPTA to?
URI students can now enjoy free, unlimited service statewide with their student ID. Students can ride to popular destinations such as:
- T.F. Green Airport and Downtown Providence (Route 66)
- URI Nursing Education Center (Route 66 to Kennedy Plaza, then board any bus leaving from Kennedy Plaza Stop B)
- Newport (Route 64)
- Wickford Junction MBTA/Free overnight parking (Route 66)
- Kingston Amtrak Station (Routes 64 or 66)

Plus, students can also use their IDs to ride free on 203 Flex, RIPTA's on-demand, curb-to-curb microtransit service covering areas of Narragansett and South Kingstown. Use the 203 Flex to get to the Bay Campus, the beach, a friend's apartment, or anywhere within the zone. Learn more at RIPTA.com/203. by @uristudentaffairs

The URI Police Department is proud to announce the addition of two 2026 Harley-Davidson Police Road Glide motorcycles and the launch of our new Motorcycle Unit.

The addition of these motorcycles expands our ability to serve the URI community by improving mobility, increasing visibility, and enhancing our response capabilities. Motorcycles allow officers to better navigate traffic, crowded campus areas, and special events more efficiently while also making officers more approachable and accessible than traditional patrol vehicles.

The Motorcycle Unit will be utilized for traffic enforcement, special events, escorts, and proactive patrols throughout campus. This new unit strengthens our commitment to community policing by increasing positive interactions between officers and the campus community. The accessibility of motorcycle officers creates easier opportunities for conversation and engagement with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

If you see one of our motorcycle officers on campus, please stop and say hello! by @uristudentaffairs
