You don’t have to be a scientist, a ranger or travel to Africa for your help to make a difference to gorillas. 🦍

You can support conservation from the comfort of your home. And it has real impact.

💚 The link to our fundraiser is in the bio. Every contribution counts.

Gorillas don’t need only money. They need you too. 🦍

Even small everyday choices in Europe or the USA affect gorillas and the whole ecosystem on the other side of the world.

What threatens gorillas the most today? 🦍

Poaching, climate change and habitat loss due to illegal mining or farming. And for mountain gorillas, also traps set for other animals.

Through the Education on Ocean and Sea Turtle Conservation fundraiser, we were able to support the team at @lauut_biru, and Polman Ocean Fest on Sulawesi took place. 🐢🌊

Thanks to all our donors, we raised €1,000. The organizers sent us what it looked like.

There was a talk about waste. A talk show brought together ocean and sea turtle conservation experts and local people to discuss who is responsible for keeping the ocean clean and how communities and schools can change things together.

Kids learned how to look after sea turtles. On Lapeo Beach, where Laut Biru works with Save Turtle to protect nests and release hatchlings into the sea, they played a game of rescuing turtles. They searched for hidden turtles among litter and driftwood and “freed” them. Then they cleaned up all the trash they found.

This is exactly why teaching children now matters so much. What they understand and experience firsthand today, they will carry forward and keep protecting the ocean twenty years from now.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. 💙

Decades ago, Dian Fossey went to the mountains of Rwanda to protect gorillas. Her work lives on, but gorillas now face a new threat: Ebola. 🦍

In our new podcast, we talk to Megan Golder of @savinggorillas about poaching, habitat loss, disease and how you can help too.

🔥 Flames are climbing into the treetops. Orangutans have nowhere to run.

This year’s fires in Borneo are among the worst in recent years, and the peak of the season is still ahead. Smoke chokes animals and people alike, and fire devours the forest that is both home and food for orangutans. Those who survive lose everything and often need immediate rescue and treatment.

Every bit of help now decides how many of them can be saved. Donate to the fundraiser and help orangutans whose home was taken by fire. 🧡

90,000 acres of wilderness. 🦏

@olpejeta protects the largest black rhino population in East Africa and the last two northern white rhinos on Earth. It's also home to the Big Five and a unique chimpanzee sanctuary, linked to the surrounding ecosystem by migration corridors. 🐘🦒🐃🦏🦁

The reserve shows that wildlife conservation and traditional livestock farming can work side by side.

2023 was a turning point at @olpejeta 💧

The drought was so severe that rivers and boreholes feeding the rhinos' watering holes dried up. 🦏 The reserve had to truck in water from town to keep wildlife and livestock alive. Rangers with over 20 years of experience had never seen anything like it.

Rainfall patterns are shifting too, arriving unpredictably and often as sudden downpours. Climate change isn't theory here anymore ‼
