figures of good taste

‘the art of living’ was an ensemble performance by the handel + haydn society, blending baroque classical music, opera and spoken word. the literary performance by regie gibson challenged the audience to ask ourselves what constitutes a life fully realized. the fabric of life is “painted in dark hues and pastels” ..the way i interpret it is that, we are a reflection of the delicate dance and duality of the light and shadow of our experiences and all that we possess. the beauty, complexities, and contradictions of being human. i found his prose to be the most impactful part of the night especially as i reflect on this era of my life. our choices are often colored by how much we feel we deserve some thing or someone. maybe a bit hedonistic of me.. but what is the point of life, if not to feel pleasure? that is the question i’ve been pondering on and has been flavoring my decisions for the latter half of my 20s. if you made it this far, thank you. id love to know what you think of this question and how you answer it through your life 💡
