YOU MAY NOW ENTER THE VALLEY. The official Valley of the Horntak website is live. Or, perhaps we should say…a website has appeared. Explore the history of the Rite of Cycle. Discover what lives in the valley. Learn about the film. Dig a little deeper into the world behind the Horntak. Just understand that Gordon has been made aware of certain unauthorized depictions of the Rite, its members, and its practices contained on this website. He is not pleased. Gordon would like it known that the filmmakers did not receive permission to document these events, that several representations are “incomplete, misleading, and deeply disrespectful to the natural order,” and that further discussion of the matter will be handled internally. We have decided to leave the website up anyway. For now...enter the valley at: horntak.com ENTRY IS VOLUNTARY. DEPARTURE MAY REQUIRE APPROVAL. Huge thank you to Andy Bill, and LA Percussion Rentals! 🙌🥁 Such an incredible experience recording the iconic Gong Drum in Dolby Atmos for @valleyofthehorntak This legendary drum belonged to percussionist Emil Richards and has been heard on countless incredible film scores over the years — including Avatar, scored by the amazing @simonfranglen . Getting to record an instrument with this much history, and capture it in Atmos, was pretty special. 🎬🔊🔥 Special thx to @shepherd.stevenson and @mikeraznick for helping me! @maxwellmorro @danmcmellen @derrickallenhuff @lapercrentals #ValleyOfTheHorntak #DolbyAtmos #FilmScoring #lapercrentals #SoundStriker by @valleyofthehorntak
🏆 BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY - NASHVILLE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL! 🎥 A huge congratulations to our incredible Director of Photography, @lucasdarrinmiller for winning Best Cinematography at the Nashville Horror Film Festival this past weekend for Valley of the Horntak! This was our Tennessee Premiere and it did not disappoint! From the beginning, we knew the Kentucky woods needed to be more than just a backdrop, they needed to feel like a character themselves. Beautiful one moment, threatening the next, and increasingly claustrophobic as Julian and Thomas descend deeper into the world of the Horntak. Lucas captured that vision beautifully. Independent filmmaking demands creativity, adaptability, and an incredible amount of trust between departments. Lucas and his camera team helped give Valley of the Horntak its distinctive visual identity, turning the forests of Southern Kentucky into a place filled with atmosphere, dread, mystery, and some truly unforgettable imagery. We couldn’t be happier to see his work recognized. Congratulations, Lucas! This one is well deserved. 🏆🎬 And thank you to the Nashville Horror Film Festival for recognizing the artistry and hard work that went into bringing our strange little corner of Kentucky horror to the screen. #ValleyOfTheHorntak #BestCinematography #LucasMiller #NashvilleHorrorFilmFestival #FolkHorror by @valleyofthehorntak
