Hi. On today's episode of Some More News, we look at the lasting impact of Elon Musk's DOGE: all the jobs and programs they slashed, plus USAID and how feeding it "into the woodchipper" resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths.

Fall Quest Team Registration is officially live! Rally your team and join us for a day-long competition that’s dumb and fun! by @somemorenews

Our first ever Summer Quest is in the books and it rocked!

Back in April, I noticed a lot of my friends (and people in general) were super depressed. I've been trying to focus on community this year, so I decided to put on a dumb fun competition for my friends.

I ran it by a couple people, who either weren't interested or didn't have bandwidth. I was about to bail when Jackie, my old roommate who is too evolved for Insta, jumped on the idea with a conviction that scared me a little. We thought we'd have to beg 10 teams to do this, we got 15, and unfortunately had to turn some away.

Then came Summer Quest! Thirteen volunteers gave this thing legs, running events, acting as trolls, and hosting a Euro-vision-like showdown. Shout out to Garrett for leading the charge!

Competitors committed! The vibes were great! Griffith Park was stunning! It's like we all tapped into our collective magic to create a moment in time where the most important thing in the world was trying to lasso a pool toy.

There were so many points when this could have fallen through, but there was always someone new ready to pick it up and make it happen. I'm so grateful for my community, for their time, their effort, and willingness to go all-in on something so dumb and joyful.

Stay tuned for Fall Quest! by @somemorenews

It’s Danny’s Gotcha Day which marks 5 years with the gremlin always hiding under the table.

The more time I spend with Danny, the more I’m convinced dogs are guardian angels sent to show us how to embrace the little joys in life from a warm patch of sunlight to fresh grass to recognizing friends on the street.

I’m grateful Danny has so many friends and I’m grateful for the friends Danny has made for us. I love this potato. He’s made my world bigger. ❤️ by @somemorenews
