A question I get asked all the time. Does my lens ever get hit.
Unfortunately on occasion it does. (Please don't jinx me though.) It's never a good moment when it happens.

I think I got lensed twice this event, once shooting video for Monarchs D4, and once shooting stills for Dark Horse D4. For a while I was able to shoot through and gave them a pink hue.

I do use a clear lens filter to help reduce the actual lens from breaking. In some instances if the filter breaks there is a possibility of it scratching the lens.
I also use a lens hood which has helped take a hit or two.
Rain covers also help to some extent on keeping gear cleaner.
I've seen others use sweat bands around the body of the lens. I've been sitting on the idea to crochet some for myself. by @vazquailz
