🖤 by @veernacular
Last year, we got to celebrate día de muertos together with my family. It was my son’s first time experiencing one of our beautiful Oaxacan traditions. One of his favorite things was the bread. He loves pan de yema, pan de muerto, pan de Yatzachi, he loves it all. Pan (bread) is so central in our culture because it creates a moment of togetherness and bonding. On those cold mornings and nights, there’s nothing better than sitting together, drinking champurrado or coffee and pairing it with some delicious bread. That’s why this year, I decided that even though we wouldn’t get to celebrate día de muertos with my family, I would make my first attempt to bake my own pan de muerto. One of my goals as a mother is to ensure that our culture and traditions are never limited by our location. So I finally did it! My first attempt at making one type of pan de muerto. Over time, I hope to get good enough to be able to make the little muertitos to put inside the pan. That will be next year’s challenge. For now, I’m really happy with my first attempt and this weekend I got to tell my son that we had pan de muerto at home ❤️ My tia dancing jarabes with my son to the sound of Banda YEB at their yearly visit to play at the cemetery for día de muertos Tamales, panesito, y familia. No hay nada mejor. Rompe dietas 🥲 Pan aprobado por el jefe de jefes Mi familia siempre me apoya en todas mis ideas. Y tienen razón, nada es imposible. ❤️ by @veernacular
Esta vida con ustedes es mi tesoro más grande. Que bendición vivir así. ❤️ by @veernacular
These photos were taken a year ago. At the time I was still freshly postpartum and my mind had me thinking all sorts of wild things about my self. I’m thankful for the incredible community of new moms I made in Berlin. It helped so much to have my experience validated by others who were going through similar “but different” things. I am enjoying going through my old photos and seeing myself through a different and kinder lens. A year later, I am happy to look back and welcome the reminder to be kind to myself. 💛 by @veernacular

Spooky season in Stockholm 🎃✨ by @veernacular
It might not seem like it because we’ve been living between countries for so long but the end of this September also marked the end of my 3rd full month fully living in Sweden. Sometimes it feels like “Wow, it’s been 3 months” and other times it feels like “Wow, it’s ONLY been 3 months?!”. This September was intense for a variety of reasons: - My 2nd month working at a new job - My toddler son’s first real month of pre school - Adjusting to a life in a new country after 10 years living somewhere else - The list goes on and on Life is not all rainbows and sunshine, especially when you’re so far away from your family and home. I don’t have photos of the hard days, only the good ones. This September was very much about finding my footing, trying to understand new things, and finding ways to make it all work. All in all, it was an important month, filled with lots of emotion and life. I am thankful for this month and everything that came from it. by @veernacular
What could I possibly wish for when I already have so much to be thankful for. I am grateful for another year of this life filled with happiness, health, and love. To another year of this beautiful life 🥂✨🎂✨ by @veernacular
Today I had the pleasure of experiencing my first crayfish party which is a classic Swedish tradition. You decorate with beautiful full moons, lots of colors, and serve tasty crayfish, shrimp, and more. It was my first time ever having crayfish and I would definitely eat it again. But my favorite part of all was the fact that everyone sings songs throughout the feast and then follows it up with a shot :+) It feels very special for me to experience these Swedish traditions especially because I get to witness my son developing a connection to his culture. I look forward to a life of many crayfish parties, songs, and schnapps. What a blessing to live a life so full of joy, traditions, and love. 🦞🇸🇪❤️ by @veernacular
Verano 2026 🌞 by @veernacular
Quality time is one of my love languages and I know it’s because it was always a luxury to have time together with my parents and family growing up. Everyone was always busy working trying to make ends meet and naturally time together was precious and limited. Fast forward, I have been a mother for nearly a year and a half and I am so thankful for all of the quality time I get to share with my son and partner. We have gone on many hikes together yet it fills my heart each time to know that we are only just beginning our journey together. 💛 by @veernacular
