Palayathu Amman (2000) is a Tamil devotional drama directed by Rama Narayanan, starring Meena as Goddess Palayathu Amman, alongside Ramki, Divya Unni, and Charan Raj.

The story begins in a gurukulam, where a holy sage foretells that the Divine Mother (Devi) will soon be born to destroy a powerful evil demon. Fearing this prophecy, the demon Asureswaran murders the sage and begins searching for the child destined to end his reign.

Meanwhile, Shekar and Savithri are blessed with a baby girl. Unknown to them, their child is the one chosen by destiny. As the child grows, Asureswaran repeatedly tries to kill her using dark supernatural powers, accidents, and evil spirits.

Whenever danger strikes, Goddess Palayathu Amman appears and miraculously saves the child. However, Savithri misunderstands these divine interventions. She believes the goddess is trying to take her daughter away and becomes afraid of Amman's presence instead of trusting her.

The demon's attacks become more dangerous, and he eventually kidnaps the child to sacrifice her and prevent the prophecy from coming true. At the climax, Goddess Palayathu Amman reveals her divine form and battles Asureswaran in an epic fight between good and evil. She destroys the demon, rescues the child, and reunites her with her parents.

The film ends by showing that faith in the Goddess triumphs over evil, and Palayathu Amman continues to protect her devotees with her divine grace.
