Mountain lovers gathering in the High Tatras 🇸🇰 and an ascent of Lomnický štít ⛰️ by @verner_jan

B7 (101 km, 5600+ elevation gain) 👉 14:10 (37 overall, 9 category) ✅

The difference between a fine achievement and an absolute disappointment sometimes depends on a tiny detail or a single decision 😅 After a year of hard work with the magician @maraminar (I’ve been in ultra for only 15 months so far), I fell ill 12 days before @beskydskasedmicka ⛰️ On day D morning – after just a few hours of sleep and suffering from a bad migraine – I had to give up 🥵

I have absolutely no idea how, but with HUGE help of coach Mára, Tomáš Soukup - @gomangoklub, @trailrun.cz, sister @kackarijen22, mum and other 30 people, I eventually made it to the start line 😤 The rest is history.

In ultra, things never go as planned 😅 This year, I broke a pole below the steepest climb (Čertův Mlýn) and hit fog so thick I couldn’t see while I was “running” down Lysá, which really held me back (considering my bad ankle) 😤

I survived it all thanks to excellent strategy and support by Mára Minář, Tomáš Soukup, Honza Dvořáček, @petka.but and @trenerbehu👌 Peak ultra running is a bit selfish sport. Me, me, me! There are people taking care of you who, just like you, aren’t sleeping and are moving around 14+ hours to find out in what state of body and mind you come, knowing that your performance and health are in their hands 💪

I love B7 💚 (and LH24). I’d love to give a hug to everyone involved in this cultural gem 💎 – you ALL have my endless respect 👊 I also have the deepest respect for founder of B7, Libor Uher himself!

Thanks to everyone who helped me✌️Above all, to my family, my true friends and my partners, without whom I wouldn’t even have trained💪 All those mentioned above and @palonc.adventure, @isuperzub, @ivaondra, @adam.ondra (If you spend enough time around Adam, you’ll start to push yourself naturally), @mix.it, @mammut, @lasportiva, @hudy, @hudysport_fm @atrainingsystem, @josef.andrle @jakublarysz, @edgarpower, @sensfoods and @brooksrunning_czsk. My finishing time is the result of hard work and your support ✊

I’ll try to surprise you again and again 😅 🌎 UTMB calling...

PS: Thanks @remi_bonnet for cool track! 🎧 Helped a lot in times of the darkness

When I was 23 and saw the film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for the first time, my friend Vojta and I set off on a trip around India and into the Himalayas almost immediately ⛰️

It was a massive adventure, from which I’ve only dared to post one single photo on Instagram to this day – a dead man lying in the street. We have experienced a lot, but didn’t find any Sean Penn hiding in the Himalayas, doing all those extreme adventure things all over the world 🌍

It looks like I’ve finally found him after 10 years 😎 Meeting a world-wide ultra legend @palonc.adventure himself in the Tatras and now joining him and @peggy.marvanova on a few sky trails (boulders, hikes and beers) around Arco 🇮🇹 is like finding Sean Penn from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for real 😅 Finally 💪

Listen to Palonc explaining quantum mechanics, black holes, debating about science, string theory and even the hypothesis that we may actually be living in a simulation 😁, while you fight hard during “recovery walk” = you’re conquering the highest mountain in the area, chasing a real storm ⚡, or running/ hiking/ climbing up and running down massive local peaks – that’s a feeling I’d pay for all I have without any doubt 👌

I hope, I can already say that we haven’t seen each other for the last time and we’ve come up with something together already 😤

What an honour to meet Palonc and his wife Peggy and what a trip together with @trailrun.cz and his family 👊

Oh dear simulation, thank you ❤️

Gather a squad of “YES!” kind of people. Hit the road. Worship the mountains 🇮🇹🇨🇭. Touch the rock. Breathe in the fresh air. Embrace adventure. Be present. Feel alive.

Mt. Stivo ⛰️ is by far my fav mountain for trail / sky running around Arco 🇮🇹

You can choose massive vertical climbs or mild ascent, mix perfect trails, enjoy probably the best @rifugiostivo around the Garda near the top 🤌, choose from technical or flat road descents and worshipping stunning views you never have enough👌
Wonder what it would be like skimo? We’ll see soon I hope 😅⛰️

Thanks @mix.it and @_edgarpower_ for a proper snacks and fuel. Especially BIO bars by @mix.it are the best for long trails.

Now it’s the right time for eye on the prize ⛰️🇮🇹 cause @pugliabyutmb is coming soon 👊

And yes. Still one broken pole 😅 @jakub.lerysoutdoor - need a new one quickly 🫡 👊 by @verner_jan

Hory! Hromady kamení a my se na ně chodíme dívat. Do prdele, to byl skvělej den! 🤩 by @verner_jan

That was quite a ride (route) 🏟️✌️Big kudos to @worldclimbingseriesprague, @worldclimbing and @horosvaz.cz for organizing this event 🫡

It’s no longer just about climbing and the fact that @adam.ondra completely amazes everyone around him 🤌 Not only with his performance, but also with his attitude, kindness and warm relationship with fans, media, partners and especially with the other competitors = mate climbers 👊

I dare to say there are few other sport events each year that are so FAMILY-FRIENDLY in Czechia! 😀 Confirmed even by @isuperzub, @praguestagirl and Jonys himself ❤️ And then dozens of our partners, friends, family as well as the thousands of fans. Nearly 16000, who visited the 🇨🇿World Climbing Series event in Prague over those few days 💪

We’re already looking forward to surpassing that bar next year, during the first World Climbing Championship hosted in Czechia, taking place in Adam’s belove Brno ✌️

Until then we have so much ahead of us! Even first Monday after Sunday’s finals in Prague, we were already planning a few epic things we have in store for this year 😤😅

Thanks to all organisers, our partners, friends and our incredible team for beeing part of this 👊 The experiences and learned lessons would be enough for 20 lifetimes. But looking back, what do I value the most? Everyone with whom we ultimately realize that we’re not doing this for money or fame, but simply because we enjoy it and it makes Sense to give our best🫡 And we’ll keep going with that mind se further and further.

Two pics by @pet.phot who is always missing in my photo dumps 😁 by @verner_jan

Not expected but deserved bronze 🥉 medal from the @lh24_race 🏔️ (together and mainly because of @mara_minar, in 18-36 man pairs category) as my second ultra trail race ever was not on my bingo card ✌️

All in all, another level of mental and body suffering unlocked 😅 New friendships gained and many hard lessons learned. I didn’t even take a single photo from the race cause chasing good splits (but mostly I simply didn’t have enough power - I gave my all, its in my eyes and I can’t walk or sit anymore) 😁

Thanks also to @josef.andrle, @atrainingsystem, @trailrun.cz, @gomangoklub, @mix.it, @_edgarpower_, @sensfoods, @hudysport_fm - @jakublarysz for cool support and advice during late night frozen hours.

I hate any kind of run for next few days, but you know 👊 by @verner_jan

I survived 🇨🇿 Czech Skyrace Championship - @lhut_lysohorskyultratrail ⛰️ I gave it my all. In the race and during whole training process with @mara_minar 👊

@stveraktomas told me right after the race that he would expected a slightly better time from me 😁, but excuses aside. That was all I had. 😤 Even so, 39th place overall, 30th in my category with a time - 3:13 (thanks to everyone who helped me put my broken pole back together—it cost me a few minutes = I was really pissed off 🌚🌝) feels pretty good for the very first time 👊

The main achievement? I didn’t twist my ankle again, which has happened 4 times in the last 2 months (and right after the race 😄). Next year I’ll run sub 3⚡️

Thanks to everyone who runs with me, trains with me and tells me that pulling shit out of me every day actually makes some sense 🫡 Due to @trailrun.cz , I met so many cool people at LHUT that it soon felt like a family event👌 Czech trailrun and skyrun community seems really great so far. Shared suffering, joy, fire, pain, experiences and laugh are the best medicine for everything that awaits us once the race is over 🏁😄

I’d like to thank 🙏 specialy my coach @mara_minar and @josef.andrle from @atrainingsystem and then @gomangoklub , @jakublarysz @trailrun.cz @jonasjuran @_mrklas @jn.prchzk for all the valuable advice, support and training sesshs⚡️🏃

And last but not least BIG thanks to @_edgarpower_ @mix.it @sensfoods @cans_czsk @mammut @hudysport @lasportivagram nad @hudysport_fm for every gear, advice and fuel ✌️👊

Whats next? In 3 weeks, off to Slovakia 🇸🇰 to run something longer (with some bears 🐻)

In the mean time, you can look at my training buddies and cool seshs 😅
